Genesis 1

1:1 [The Old Testament is the view of our creator, who is the infinitely powerful, merciful to the penitent, furious to the selfish, God. In these first thirty nine books we see the power of imposed plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, supernatural destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, food falling from heaven, water springing from rocks, the sun standing still for 12 hours, entire armies destroyed by God, rivers halting, the walls of Jericho falling down on the seventh trumpet blast, God fighting for his people, God orchestrating his people's destruction, the earth parting to swallow those in rebellion, angels in their glory, a man taken by chariot into the heavens, the raising of the dead, and more. All these events are to be an indelible record and allegory of the personal spiritual journey of a dedicated seeker of God today. Further these events are to testify to the omnipotent power of God, who can control everything and anything, who can rid a man of sin, who can change a selfish, profane, evil man to become holy and pure. The one word that best describes this Biblical record is obedience. For it is only in obedience to the voice of the word of God in our hearts that we can please God and receive his life changing grace. In disobedience, we will face his fury. But in continued obedience we experience his cleansing grace to become like him; to be filled with his love; to then to be in union with him; to live in his light; to have a life of noble thoughts, words, and deeds; and then to serve him without fear forever as a priest and king. The same God, who created the heavens and the earth, can recreate you to be a holy, pure, vessel in which he dwells. It is by faith, that one is reconciled fully to God; the faith that listens in silence and humility for his voice, hears his word spoken from in your heart, and completely obeys his commands...So we may see that In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psa 16:11...Which remain undefined, for Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Cor 2:9...But we do not doubt he will do it, if we seek his face, with our whole heart as our 1st priority in life... For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28.... And Love never fails, 1 Cor 13:8... For he promised I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Heb 13:5.]

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

1:2 And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

1:3 And God said, "Let there be light;" and there was light.

1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

1:5 God called the light "Day," and the darkness he called "Night." And the evening and the morning were the first day.

1:6 Then God said, "Let there be a firmament [expanse] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."

1:7 And God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so.

1:8 And God called the expanse "Heaven." And the evening and the morning were the second day.

1:9 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place, and let the dry land appear." And it was so.

1:10 And God called the dry land "Earth," and the collected waters he called "Seas." And God saw that it was good.

1:11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth vegetation: the plants that yield seed and the fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, according to its kind, upon the earth." And it was so.

1:12 And the earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to its kind and the trees yielding fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, for seasons, for days, and for years,

1:15 And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth." And it was so.

1:16 And God made two great lights - the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

1:17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth,

1:18 To rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

1:20 Then God said, "Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens."

1:21 And God created great whales and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

1:22 And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply in the earth."

1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

1:24 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kind: livestock, creeping things, and beasts of the earth according to their kind." And it was so.

1:25 And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps upon the earth after its kind. And God saw that it was good.

1:26 And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the beasts, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth."

1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

1:28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."

1:29 And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant that bears seed that is upon the face of all the earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it; these shall be food for you.

1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps upon the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green plant for food. And it was so.

1:31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
