6 That you may with one mind in one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. [To be of one mind and one mouth, Christ is in total control of their minds and all words spoken. All are in unity of the Spirit, with the mind of Christ; their old minds having been destroyed by His grace. From the Word of the Lord within: "We stand in the presence of God speaking forth His words as commanded. We stand before Him that we might glorify Him."]
8 When you bear (produce or bring forth) much fruit, my Father is honored and glorified, and you show that you are truly my disciples [true followers].2 [The fruit that this verse references is the fruit of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace (quietness and confident trust forever), patience (including longsuffering, steadfastness, and perseverance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, (including meekness and humility), and self-control (mastery of sensual appetites, desires, and passions). Gal 5:22-23. Everyone who does not produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit in this life is thrown into the fire, like branches on a tree are pruned and thrown into the fire. This is the test of a true disciple or follower of Jesus: to produce fruit; and when a true follower produces fruit, the Father is honored and glorified! I ask you, "have ever heard of a more worthy goal than to bring honor and glory to your creator?"]
18 He who speaks from himself [speaking his own words] seeks his own glory;1 but he who seeks the glory of the One who sent him, that man is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him. [If you are not specifically sent, and if you are deciding with your brain what to say, you are speaking from yourself and seeking your own glory. To be seeking God's glory and not your own, you must first be sent and then only speak words heard from the Spirit immediately before speaking. Jesus only spoke words, judged, and performed works as He was ordered by God. If you are speaking and/or working for God without being specifically ordered in each and every word and action, you are essentially claiming that your own words and deeds are superior to what Jesus' would be if he made his own decisions about what to say and do.]
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. [When you have been delivered (freed) from the sins and evil in your heart, God's light will shine forth in your heart, to guide your thoughts, words, and works. God makes us a fit instrument for his hand to direct in works of love, to show the world the love of God, to shake the nations, and to hold out the word of life. God's works are performed by his people with joy, knowing all their words and deeds are perfect and virtuous, which give pleasure and glory to God, and which shows true righteousness.]
|1 Corinthians 6:20|
20 For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
|1 Peter 2:12 |
12 Keeping your conduct honest among the Gentiles, so that although they may speak against you as evildoers, they may by seeing your good works, glorify God in the day of visitation.
