2 Corinthians 6

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

 1 So then, as fellow workers with him, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

 2 For he said, "In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

 3 We give no offence in anything, so that our ministry will not be blamed;

 4 But in all things approve ourselves as the ministers of God: in much patience, in afflictions, in needs, in distresses,

 5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watching, in fasting;

 6 By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by unfeigned love,

 7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

 8 In honor and dishonor, in evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers, and yet true;

 9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

 10 As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

 11 O you Corinthians, we have spoken freely to you, our heart is opened wide.

 12 There is no restraint from us, but you are restrained in your own affections.

 13 Now as a fair exchange, (I speak as to my children,) open wide your hearts to us also.

 14 Do not be mismatched [become partners] with unbelievers for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?1

 15 And what harmony does Christ have with Belial [the devil]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? [Do not be deceived. Evil companions corrupt good manners, morals, and integrity. 1 Cor 15:33.]

 16 And what agreement can the temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." [From the Word of the Lord within: "Those who belong to Christ are through with sin. If you are still sinning, you belong to sin and not to me. Let the word of Christ richly dwell in you. If you give heed to my words, I will dwell in you and walk in you."]

 17 Therefore "come out from among them, and be separate," says the Lord, "and touch no unclean thing; and I will receive you.2

 18 And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

1 Do not be mismatched [become partners] with unbelievers for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? Obviously this and the remaining verses refer to being in a sect calling themselves Christians but which does not believe in the true gospel — the true gospel being that all men in the world through obedience to the light and word within them can receive the cleansing power of God through the ministering grace of the Spirit to: become (not be) a son of God, to be released from the bondage of sin, to have Christ resurrected within them, to be in union with Christ and God, and to enter the kingdom while on earth; furthermore this sinless state is a perfection from sin forever, protected by God from ever falling to sin again.

Even worse is for a sincere seeker of Christ's grace to be yoked in a fellowship with people who don't believe in Christ or even God (i.e., Quakers today, whose membership is freely open to atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, witches, pagans, etc.).

But also, don't enter into business partnerships, marriage, or any joint venture with a person who does not share your faith and hope. But if you are already married to a non-believer, you are to remain married to them as long as they continue to live with you:

To the rest I (not the Lord) say this: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is content to live with him, let him not divorce her.
And if a woman has a husband who does not believe, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 1 Cor 7:12-13
But if the unbelieving spouse departs, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under obligation [to oppose or follow] in such cases. God has called us to peace. 1 Cor 7:12-13,15

2 Therefore "'come out from among them, and be separate,' says the Lord, 'and touch no unclean thing; and I will receive you. '

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, so that you do not share in her sins, and so you will not receive her plagues. Rev 18:4

Some of God's people are still in Christendom Babylon; God is pleading with his elect to leave the false churches. You will never see salvation if you stay in Babylon, who promises you heaven even though you still sin — who tells you that you must physically die before experiencing heaven — who tells you that you will go to heaven and escape Hell (saved) by believing that Jesus is the Son of God and/or being water baptized.
