|Exodus 29 |
"This is the thing that you shall do to them to consecrate them to minister to me in the priest's office. Take one young bull and two rams without blemish,
And unleavened bread and unleavened cakes mixed with oil and unleavened wafers anointed with oil; you shall make them of fine wheat flour.
And you shall put them into a basket and bring them in the basket along with the bull and the two rams.
Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation and wash them with water.
And you shall take the garments, and put upon Aaron the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod.
And you shall put the turban on his head, and put the holy crown upon the turban.
And you shall take the anointing oil and pour it upon his head and anoint him.
Then you shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.
And you shall gird them with waistbands, Aaron and his sons, and put the caps on them; and the priest's office shall be theirs by a perpetual statute. So you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.
Then you shall have the young bull brought before the tabernacle of the congregation, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the bull.
And you shall kill the bull before the LORD by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And you shall take of the blood of the bull and put it upon the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour all the remaining blood at the bottom of the altar.
You shall take all the fat that covers the inwards, and the covering that is on the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them upon the altar.
But the flesh of the bull, its skin, and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp; it is a sin offering.
You shall also take one of the rams, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram.
And you shall slay the ram and you shall take its blood and sprinkle it around on the altar.
Then you shall cut the ram in pieces and wash its entrails and legs, and put them with its pieces and its head.
And you shall burn the whole ram upon the altar. It is a burnt offering to the LORD; it is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
Then you shall take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon its head.
And you shall kill the ram and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron and his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand and the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the rest of the blood against the altar.
And you shall take part of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron and his garments, and upon his sons and their garments; and he and his garments, and his sons and his sons' garments shall be made holy.
Also you shall take the fat of the ram, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the appendage above the liver, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh; for it is a ram of consecration.
And take one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the LORD;
And you shall put all of these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and they shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
Then you shall receive them back from their hands, and burn them upon the altar as a burnt offering for a sweet savor before the LORD; it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And you shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration and wave it before the LORD as a wave offering; and it shall be your portion.
And you shall sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the thigh of the heave offering of the ram used in the consecration, which is for Aaron and his sons.
It shall be for Aaron and his sons' from the children of Israel by a statute forever, for it is a heave offering; and it shall be a heave offering from the children of Israel from their peace sacrifices, their heave offering to the LORD.
The holy garments of Aaron shall be his sons' after him, that they may be anointed and consecrated in them.
And that son who is high priest in Aaron's place shall put them on for seven days when he comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the Holy Place.
You shall take the ram of the consecration and boil its flesh in the Holy Place.
And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
They shall eat those things with which the atonement was made; to consecrate and to sanctify them; but a stranger shall not eat of them, because they are holy.
And if any of the flesh of the consecrations or of the bread remain until the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire; it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
Thus you shall do to Aaron and to his sons according to all things that I have commanded you; for seven days you shall ordain them.
Every day you shall offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement. And you shall cleanse the altar when you make atonement for it, and you shall anoint it to sanctify it.
For seven days you shall make an atonement for the altar and sanctify it; and the altar shall be most holy; whatever touches the altar must be holy.
Now this is what you shall offer upon the altar each day: two lambs a year old.
One lamb you shall offer in the morning and the other lamb you shall offer in the evening.
With the first lamb offer a tenth of an epheh of flour mingled with a fourth of a hin of pressed oil, and a fourth of a hin of wine as a drink offering.
The other lamb you shall offer in the evening, and do with it according to the grain offering and the drink offering of the morning, for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. There I will meet and speak to you.
There I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle of the congregation shall be sanctified by my glory.
And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar; I will also sanctify both Aaron and his sons to minister to me in the priest's office.
I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God.
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
