Exodus 39

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

 Moreover, of the blue, purple, scarlet, they made garments to do service in the holy place; they made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 Bezalel made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen.

 And they beat the gold into thin plates and cut it into wires to work into the blue, purple, scarlet, and the fine linen, with skillful work.

 They made shoulder straps for it to couple it together; it was coupled together by its two edges.

 The skillfully woven band [waistband] that was upon it was of the same workmanship, of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.

 And they made onyx stones enclosed in settings of gold filigree, engraved as signets are engraved with the names of the children of Israel.

 And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod to be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 He made the breastplate of skillful work, like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen.

 The breastplate was square by doubling it over; a span long and a span wide when doubled.

 And they set in it four rows of stones; the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle;

 The second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;

 The third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;

 And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper; they were enclosed in settings of gold filigree in their mountings.

 There were twelve stones according to the names of the children of Israel, engraved like a signet, each with its name, according to the twelve tribes.

 They made chains of braided work of pure gold at the ends on the breastplate.

 And they made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and put them on the ends of the breastplate.

 Then they put the two braided chains of gold into the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

 The other two ends of the two braided chains they fastened on the two settings and put them on the shoulder straps of the ephod in the front.

 They made two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the inside border of it, which was next to the ephod.

 And they made two other golden rings and put them on the two shoulder straps of the ephod underneath, in front, at its joining above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.

 And they bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the skillfully woven band of the ephod and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 Then he made the robe of the ephod of woven work all of blue.

 There was a head opening in the center of the robe, like the opening in a coat of mail, with a binding of woven work around the opening, so that it would not tear.

 And they made pomegranates of blue, purple, scarlet, and twined linen upon the hems of the robe.

 They made bells of pure gold and put the bells between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe;

 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe to minister in, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 Then they made tunics skillfully woven of fine linen for Aaron and his sons,

 And the turban and ornamental caps of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,

 And a sash of fine twined linen, and blue, purple, and scarlet, of embroidered needlework, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 Then they made the plate, the sacred diadem, of pure gold and engrave upon it, like the engravings of a signet: HOLINESS TO THE LORD.

 And they tied to it a lace of blue to fasten it on the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.

 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation was finished; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses; so the children of Israel did.

 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, its bases,

 The covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of porpoise skins, the veil of the covering,

 The ark of the Testimony, its poles, and the mercy seat;

 The table and all its utensils, and the show bread;

 The pure lamp stand and its lamps, with the lamps set in order, all its utensils, and the oil for light;

 The golden altar, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door;

 The bronze altar and its grate of bronze, its poles and all its utensils; the basin and its base;

 The hangings of the court, its pillars and bases, and the hanging for the court gate, its cords, and its pegs, and all the utensils for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation;

 The garments of ministry to do service in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and garments for his sons to minister in the priest's office.

 According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.

 And Moses looked upon all the work, and behold, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.
