Job 8

 1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, and said,

 2 "How long will you speak these things? How long shall the words of your mouth be like a strong wind?

 3 Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?

 4 If your children have sinned against him, and he has cast them away for their transgression;

 5 If you would intensely seek to God, and make your supplication to the Almighty;

 6 Then, if you were pure and upright, surely he would awake for you, and make your house [body, spiritual temple] righteous.

 7 Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.

 8 For inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and apply yourself to the search of its fathers.

 9 (For we are born only yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow.)

 10 Shall not the fathers teach you, and tell you, and utter words out of their heart?1

 11 Can the rush grow up without the marsh? Can the rushes grow without water?

 12 While it is still in its greenness, and not cut down, [without water] it withers before any other herb.

 13 So are the paths of all who forget God; and the godless hypocrite's hope shall perish.

 14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web [a trap].

 15 He [the godless] shall depend upon his spiritual house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold onto it, but it shall not endure.2

 16 He is like a green tree in the sun, and his branch shoots forth in his garden.

 17 His roots are wrapped around the pile of rocks, and find their way among them.

 18 If He destroys him from his place, then his property shall deny him, saying, "I have not known you."

 19 Behold, this [temporary success] is the only joy of going his own way, and out of the earth others shall grow.

 20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers.

 21 Still yet he will fill your mouth with laughing, and your lips with rejoicing.

 22 Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nothing."

1 inquire, I pray you, of the former age, and apply yourself to the search of its fathers. Shall not the fathers teach you, and tell you, and utter words out of their heart? This is further testimony to an age when the fathers had great knowledge by revelation in the Light about God, and who passed this knowledge in their hearts down from generation to generation, which was very probably Noah and his sons, to whom alone the earth was given. Job 15:18-19.

However, to go to the fathers is not always such good advice. In their seminaries, the Roman sect teaches from the writings of their old fathers, (Augustine, Thomas, etc.), the pillars of their sect and designated by them with the title of saints. Their writings, while being partially true, are full of fatal errors. Both Augustine and Thomas left written records of their justification for killing heretics. From the Word of the Lord within: "Despite his record, the world regards Augustine as the foremost expert on religion."

Similarly, the writings of Luther and Calvin, the fathers of Protestantism, are still studied in many Protestant seminaries and bible colleges. Yet Luther denounced the Bible's books of Revelation, Hebrews, Jude, James, and Esther, while Calvin presided over a theocracy that executed fifty-eight persons being witches or heretics, also leaving a written record of his justification. Luther also wrote of extreme hatred for the Jews, which underpinned the Nazi's later holocaust. Protestant seminaries even study Augustine's writings.

Yes, the time is coming when whoever kills you will think that he is doing a service to God. John 16:2

Because these men were the founders of their sects, their fatal flaws are deliberately ignored. However, if the venerated founders and fathers of the sects are evil, how could the sects and their promulgated doctrines also not be evil? When the root is evil, no matter how many branches are on the tree — they are evil too. From the Word of the Lord within: "They are corrupt, through and through;" and "woe to those who try to bring good from evil."

Unfortunately the many early Quaker writings of Fox, Penn, Penington, Fell, Howgill, Burrough, Crisp, et al., (who were true saints of God), being full of wonderful truths and without error, have been totally discounted by the great majority of Quakers and ignored by the rest of the world. As the Word of the Lord within has said: "History is not kind to the truth."

2 He shall depend upon his spiritual house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold onto it, but it shall not endure. Jesus said: Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and not do what I say? Whoever comes to me, and hears my sayings, and does [practices, obeys] them, I will show you to whom he is like. He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation securely built on a rock; and when the flood arose, the torrent beat violently upon that house, but could not shake it because it was founded upon a rock. But he who hears, and does not [practice my teachings], is like a man who built an house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the torrent struck violently, and immediately it collapsed; and the ruin of that house was great. Luke 6:46-49. So Jesus is saying that unless your faith is based on hearing and obeying his commands to you, words heard from within your heart, all your works will be burnt in the lake of fire, suffering total loss for all the time of your life.

According to the grace of God which has been given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it.
But let every man take heed how he builds upon the foundation. For no other foundation can any man lay than what has been already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw;
That man's work shall be exposed. For the day [of the Lord] shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
If any man's work survives, which he has built upon the foundation, he shall receive a reward.
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1 Cor 3:10-15
.
