1 Ascribe to the LORD, O you mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness1.

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders; the LORD is upon many waters.

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

5 The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; Yes, the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He also makes them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.

7 The voice of the LORD strikes and flashes forth lightning.

8 The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth, and strips the forests bare, and in his temple everyone says, "Glory."

10 The LORD sat enthroned above the flood; yes, the LORD sits as King forever.

11 The LORD will give strength to his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

1 Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Scripture tells us that God seeks worshippers who will worship him in spirit and truth for God must be worshiped in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24. Your sinful nature must be crucified before you can worship God in Spirit and Truth; all other worships are an abomination to God. Now add to spirit and truth, the beauty of holiness: without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Heb 12:14. For God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1 Thes 4:7. Therefore having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Cor 7:1. When you have crucified your sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial, then you can worship God in spirit, truth, and the beauty of holiness.
