Psalms 30

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

1 I will extol you, O LORD, for you have lifted me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.

2 O LORD my God, I cried to you and you have healed me.

3 O LORD, you have brought my soul up from the grave; you have kept me alive, so that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing to the LORD, O you saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holy name.

5 For his anger endures but for a moment, but in his favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

6 Now as for me, in my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved."

7 LORD, by your favor you have made my mountain stand strong; but when you hid your face1, I was troubled.

8 I cried to you, O LORD, and to the LORD I made supplication:

9 "What profit is there in my destruction, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it declare your truth?

10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me! LORD, be my helper!"

11 You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; you have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,

12 To the end that everything glorious within me may sing praise to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

1 When you hid your face, I was troubled. David saw the face of God in his heart. When the Lord withdrew his face from being visible in David's heart, David was troubled. To see God's face is a prerequisite to salvation. When he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone with this hope purifies himself, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:2-3. Only those who are like him — pure — will see him appear. Call on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Tim 2:22. Your souls are purified in obeying the truth, through the spirit. 1 Pet 1:22. Your heart is purified by faith. Acts 15:9.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Mat 5:8. Without a pure heart, you are now, and will be, banned from heaven.
He appears to the purified heart of a believer — he is seen. This is his second appearance - this time to the purified in heart.
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor 4:6.
Christ is revealed in your heart; you see, and have knowledge of, the glory of God.
The morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Pet 1:19.

Jesus is resurrected in us
to be our true Lord. 2 Cor 4:14, Col 2:11-12,3:1, Eph 2:6

Paul said Jesus was resurrected in him: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.
So, seek his face, and keep on seeking until he appears.
