1 [From the Jewish Encyclopedia: "Beginning with this chapter to the end of the Book of Wisdom, the speaker is no longer Solomon, but the author or the saints, who recite the history of Israel's redemption from Egypt and other enemies. In like manner, the words are not addressed to the kings of the earth, but to God, the deliverer from the Red Sea. The whole appears on close observation to be part of a Passover Haggadah (history of the Jews Exodus from Egypt) recited in Egypt with reference to Gentile surroundings, and it accordingly abounds in genuine haggadic passages of an ancient character."
It is interesting to note that when citing the miracles of God in the desert, the author glosses over the several rebellions (complaining and murmuring) of the Israelites against Moses and God, which precipitated many of the miracles cited, but also which resulted in thousands of Israelites being destroyed in consequence of their rebellions; thus the hearer of the narrative is led to believe that he is part of a special, favored people of God, with no fear of God's disapproval for anything he does. This, (remembering the loving parts, while forgetting the fearful parts of the Bible), still occurs today in Christendom. Everyone talks about how Jesus is so forgiving; true, but after forgiveness he says, sin no more! To the adulteress: I do not condemn you either. Go on your way and sin no more. John 8:11. To one healed: Behold, you are made whole; sin no more for fear that something worse may happen to you. John 5:14. The something worse that may happen to you is called Hell. Christendom doesn't have a clue how to be freed from sin, and pretends it is impossible. But forgotten is what Jesus said: Sin no more! And Repent or perish! (to lose you soul).]
1 She preserved him that was first formed by God the father of the world, when he was created alone,
2 and she brought him out of his sin, and gave him power to govern all things.1 [Wisdom taught Adam to rise from his fall by repentance.]
3 But when the unjust went away from her in his anger, he perished by the fury with which he murdered his brother. [Wisdom caused Cain and his generation to perish.]
4 For whose cause, when water destroyed the earth, wisdom healed it again, directing the course of the righteous [Noah] by a piece of wood of small repute.
5 Moreover when the nations had conspired together to consent to wickedness, she knew the righteous, and preserved him [Abraham] without blame to God, and kept him strong against the compassion for his son.
6 She delivered the just man [Lot] who fled from the wicked that were perishing, when the fire came down upon the five cities, [Sodom, Gomorrah, Bela, Zeboiim and Admah].
7 whose land for a testimony of their wickedness is desolate, and smokes to this day, and the trees bear fruits that ripen not, and a standing pillar of salt [Lot's wife] is a monument of an incredulous soul.
8 For regarding not wisdom, they did not only slip in this, that they were ignorant of good things, but they left also unto all a memorial of their folly, so that in the things in which they sinned, they could not so much as lie hidden.
9 But wisdom has delivered from sorrow those who attend upon her.
10 She conducted the just, [Jacob] when he fled from his brother's [Esau's] wrath, through the right ways, and showed him the kingdom of God, and gave him the knowledge of the holy things, made him honorable in his labors, and accomplished his labors. [Wisdom showed Jacob the kingdom of God in the vision of the ladder.]
11 In the deceit of those who overreached him, she stood by him, and made him honorable.
12 She kept him safe from his enemies, and she defended him from seducers, and gave him a strong conflict, that he might overcome, and know that wisdom is mightier than all. [Wisdom gave Jacob victory over all his pursuers.]
13 She forsook not the just when he [Joseph] was sold, but delivered him from sinners; she went down with him into the pit.
14 And in bands she left him not, till she brought him the scepter of the kingdom, [Joseph ruled Egypt] and power against those that oppressed him, and showed them to be liars that had accused him, and gave him everlasting glory.
15 She delivered the just people [the children of Israel], and blameless seed from the nations that oppressed them.
16 She entered into the soul of the servant of God [Moses], and stood against dreadful kings in wonders and signs.
17 And she rendered to the just the wages of their labors, and conducted them in a wonderful way, and she was to them for a covering by day, and for the light of stars by night.
18 And she brought them through the Red Sea, and carried them over through a great water.
19 But their enemies she drowned in the sea, and from the depth of hell she brought them out. Therefore the just took the spoils of the wicked.
20 And they sang to your holy name, O Lord, and they praised with one accord your victorious hand.
21 For wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb, and made the tongues of infants eloquent.

1 Wisdom brought him [Adam] out of his sin, and gave him power to govern all things. This is good news indeed. Adam and Eve were unique, to have been in paradise, and then to be expelled to the cursed earth's dimension; that must have been a calamity, a shock, a loss that we cannot imagine. This is the first I have read, with an explanation provided by the Jewish Encyclopedia, that Adam was led through repentance to at least a restored fellowship with the Lord; which fellowship, although not as good as being back in paradise, would be much better than being alone in darkness — which is where we all are, and where we must be led out of to light — but we have never known different, and so our darkness is not nearly as painful as Adam's must have been.
