|Zechariah 3 |
Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
And the LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, O Satan! Even the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick plucked out of the fire?"
Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and stood before the angel of the LORD.
And the angel of the LORD spoke to those who stood before him, saying, "Take away the filthy garments from him." And he said to Joshua, "Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes."
And I said, "Let them put a clean turban upon his head." So they put a clean turban upon his head and clothed him with rich robes, while the angel of the LORD stood by.
And the angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying:
"Thus says the LORD of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and will keep my command, then you shall govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you access [to approach Me] and a places to walk among these who stand here.
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and your fellows who sit before you — for they are a wondrous sign [symbols of things to come]- for behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.
For behold the stone that I have set before Joshua: upon the stone shall be seven eyes or facets. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it, says the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
In that day, says the LORD of hosts, every man will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and his fig tree."
