 21 That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us3 so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

 22 And the glory which you gave me I have given them; so that they may be one, just as we are one.

 23  I in them, and you in me,4 that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.

 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, overlooking one another's faults in love;

 3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling;

 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,1

 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.2 [The Father is in you allChrist is in you all, and the Kingdom of Heaven is in you; there, in your hearts, is where you will find them all. 1 John 1:6-7

Display Chapter and Footnotes

 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not [live in] the truth. [To walk in darkness is to walk still sinning. From the Word of the Lord within: "Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say."]

 7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.3 [To walk in the light is to be guided by God, (who is light), in what to say and do. All men sit in darkness and walk in darkness until the light arises in their hearts. From the Word of the Lord within: "Light comes from faith in the voice." You can be walking in the light and in fellowship, and then through lack of watchfulness have an unintentional slip; but that can be forgiven and cleansed.]
