|John 17:21-23 |
21 That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us3 so that the world may believe that you have sent me. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Salvation occurs when you are one with Christ and God."]
22 And the glory which you gave me I have given them; so that they may be one, just as we are one.
23 I in them, and you in me,4 that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that you have sent me, and have loved them, as you have loved me.
4 I in them, and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one. John 17:23
These promises are beyond the ability of most men to hear, understand, and believe; yet here, they are clearly requested by Jesus, and we know that all of Jesus's prayers have undoubtedly been granted. This is the good news that Jesus came to preach — the availability of restoration of man to the image of God, lost in the garden; but even beyond that — to union with God, translated into the Kingdom of heaven within them and around them, while still alive on earth.
