The Missing Cross to Purity

Verses Stating that the Word "came" Often "saying"

Scriptures do not travel.
Scriptures do not speak.

But the Spirit of Jesus, whose name is the word of God, both travels and speaks.

Since Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, Heb 13:8;
He still speaks today — if you are listening in humble silence.

Luke 3:2
2  [When] Annas and Caiaphas were the high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

There were no Bibles in this time. Scriptures were on scrolls: handwritten, expensive, rare, and kept in synagogues. Scriptures did not come to John the Baptist in the wilderness, but the voice of the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus, who is the Word of God, did come to John.
     Luke 2 (whole chapter)

Genesis 15:4
4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, "This one shall not be your heir, but he who comes from your own body shall be your heir."

This verse is God speaking to Abram (Abraham), and Abraham was before any scriptures were written. Moses wrote the first scriptures five hundred plus years after Abraham died; one more hard fact that the Word of God cannot be scriptures.
     Genesis 15 (whole chapter)

Ezekiel 13:1
1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
     Ezekiel 13 (whole chapter)

2 Samuel 24:11

     2 Samuel 24 (whole chapter)

John 10:34-35
34 Then Jesus answered them, "is it not written in your law, 'I have said, You are gods'?
35 So he called them gods, men to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;"

Notice that Jesus is distinguishing between scripture and the word of God that came; one more hard fact that scripture is not the word of God.
     John 10(whole chapter)

1 Kings 13:20
20 And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came to the prophet who had brought him back.
     1 Kings 13 (whole chapter)

1 Kings 12:22
22 But the word of God came to Shemaiah, the man of God, saying,

The Word of God came, "saying." Scriptures do not speak, so the Bible cannot be the word of God. The Word of God "came to Shemaiah." Scriptures do not walk, fly, or travel. But the Spirit of Jesus, whose name is the word of God, both travels and speaks.

1 Kings 19:9
9 Then he came to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the LORD came and said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

The Word of God came to Elijah in a cave; scriptures do not travel. The Word of God spoke to Elijah; scriptures do not talk. But the Spirit of Jesus, whose name is the word of God, both travels and speaks. The Bible, scriptures, or any writing is not the Word of God; the Word of God is a living being, the Spirit of Jesus: And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
     1 Kings 19 (whole chapter)

Psalms 119:82
82 My eyes fail for your word, saying, "When will you comfort me?"

David's eyes failed as he was waiting and watching for the word. One does not watch for scriptures, but one does listen and watch for the word of the LORD within your heart to speak and/or provide a vision with understanding. the word of the LORD can come in a vision: the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not fear Abram, I am you shield, and you exceedingly great reward."  3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

Notice in this verse, the Word of God "came," and the Word of God came "saying." Scriptures do not speak, so the Bible cannot be the word of God. Scriptures do not travel, nor do scriptures speak; but the Spirit of Jesus, whose name is the word of God, both travels and speaks.

In the original Greek of the New Testament, every verse translated as " the word," or "the word of God," or "the word of the LORD" in Greek is either logos or rhema, both of which mean "words spoken by a living voice." The word never means scripture or written words in the original Greek. See the Scriptures that Show the Word not to be the Bible for the details and links to every New Testament verse in Greek that contains "the word."

From the word of the LORD within:

  • Calling the Bible the word is the most evil lie of Christendom.
  • Woe be to them, for they have coupled an external form between the love of God to man.

Why is calling the Bible "the word" the most evil lie in Christendom? Because then people read "Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and obey, Luke 11:28;" thinking it means to read the Bible instead of quietly listening for God to speak His words to them. Christendom has put a book between God and man, separating man from God's love, creating a form of godliness with no power, as He said: "Woe be to them for they have coupled an external form between God and man."

Further from the word of the LORD within:

Why are ten words from Him, (that you hear Him speak to you), better that reading ten of the New Testament letters? Because His words that you hear Him speak to you impart the life of God to your heart, John 6:63; but reading ten letters is just a work of the flesh, which profits nothing; in fact most people read the letters of the New Testament and think they are addressed to them, when in fact most were addressed to very advanced believers who had attained the first stage of perfection. Reading the Bible is valuable for understanding what is sin and for maintaining your hope in the true gospel; however, to be of value, your hope must be in the true gospel and the benefit of bearing the cross to realize those promises.

This web site's purpose is to show how to become
free from sin
by benefiting from the changing power of God through the cross,
which leads to union with God in his Kingdom.
