19 He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; do not associate with him that flatters with his lips.
2 Everyone speaks vanity to his neighbor; they speak with flattering lips and with a double heart.
3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, and the tongues that speak proud boasting,
4 Who say, "we will prevail with our tongues; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?"1 [From the Word of the Lord within: "Every man was his own king. The King is where He is king. If all that profess me, would possess me."]
9 For there is nothing trustworthy in their mouth; their heart is full of destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue.
16 These are grumblers and complainers, walking after their own lusts; their mouth speaks great flattering words, admiring men in order to gain advantage.
23 He who rebukes a man shall afterwards find more favor than he who flatters with the tongue.
5 A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
|1 Thessalonians 2:5 |
5 For we did not come with flattering words at any time, as you know, nor with a pretext for covetousness [seeking your money]; God is our witness. [For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially of the circumcision; Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things they ought not to teach, for filthy lucre's sake.Tit 1:10-11.]
