1 Corinthians 7:5-7

Display Chapter and Footnotes

 5 Do not deprive each other of your body, except by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer and then resume relations so that Satan cannot tempt you because of your lack of self-control. [If you independently, (without mutual consent), withhold sexual relations with your spouse, you risk major alienation of your spouse. If you hear a command to cease sexual relations, and your spouse does not agree, the command is not from the Lord; instead, it is the devil hoping to cause you anguish, your loss of confidence, and even the dissolution of your marriage.

Like Mat 17:21 and Mark 9:29, in this verse earlier manuscripts read prayer only, but scribes in later manuscripts added the word fasting, making it fasting and prayer instead.]

 6 But I speak this as a concession, and not as a commandment.

 7 For I wish that all men were like I am myself. But every man has his proper gift from God, one in this manner, and another in a different manner.1

 28 Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be, for they all had her [as a wife]?"

 29 And Jesus answered and said to them, "You err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. [So, there are no sexual relations in heaven.]

 34 And Jesus answering said to them, "The children of this world marry and are given in marriage;

 35 But those who are counted worthy to obtain that other world and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage; [This verse is typically read without the understanding that for those who attain purity and salvation through the inward cross of self denial, they obtain that other world, (the kingdom), and the resurrection while alive on the earth.]

 36 Neither can they die anymore, for they are like the angels. And they are sons of God, since they are the sons of the resurrection.

Matthew 19:11-12,14

 11 But he said to them, "All men cannot receive this saying, only those to whom it is given. [Most men don't believe overcoming sexual desires is even possible.]

 12 For there are some eunuchs who were born so from their mother's womb; and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it." [Those who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom have overcome their sexual desires with the aid of the Spirit removing those desires. From the Word of the Lord within: "sexual desires can be overcome;" (and this applies to both males and females, to both heterosexual and homosexual desires, providing there is a fervent commitment to become completely free of them) — but, as these verses state: "all men cannot receive this;" (because they cannot believe overcoming sexual desires is even possible).]

 14 But Jesus said, "Allow the little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." [This verse amplifies the verses above regarding who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom. Jesus further said, "Truly I say to you that unless you turn around (change your conduct) and become like little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Mat 18:3. To enter the kingdom of heaven, you must be restored to the innocence of little children; and little children do not have pride, anger, lusts, violence, judgment of others, and sexual desires. Christ changes men and women, making them virgins again, their lusts and sexual desires removed.]

 5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God adorned themselves, being in submission to their own husbands,

 6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are, as long as you do well and are not afraid with any amazement.

 7 Likewise, husbands, dwell with them considerately [by deferring],2 giving honor to the wife as the weaker vessel, and as an heir with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

 8 Finally, be all of one mind, having compassion on one another; love as brothers,3 be tenderhearted, be courteous;

 3 And they sang a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders; and no man could learn that song except the one hundred forty four thousand, who were redeemed from the earth.

 4 These are those who are not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow [in obedience] the Lamb wherever he goes [whatever he commands]. These were redeemed from among all humanity [all men and women], being the first fruits to God and to the Lamb. [According to the Word of the Lord within, those virgins are: "male or female who have overcome their desire for sex. Sexual desires can be overcome." Every person's heart is filled with evil and defiled until the Lord cleanses their heart of all lusts, (including sexual desires), sexual immorality, pride, anger, etc.; thus to become like little children, innocent and virgins. In heaven there is no marriage or giving in marriage, there is no male or female, all are sons of God, and all are like the angels of God. Paul wrote: "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy; for I have betrothed you to one husband [Jesus], that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ." 2 Cor 11:2]

 5 And in their mouth was found no guile; for they are without fault before the throne of God.1
