24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he is like his master, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they speak evil of those who are of his household?
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord finds so doing when he comes.
47 Truly I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.
47 And that servant who knew his lord's will and did not prepare himself or did not do according to his will shall be beaten with many stripes.[From the Word of the Lord within: "Never give up, however good it feels looking back. It is blind to give up, knowing the will of God. Don't even think about giving up."]
13 No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
13 You call me 'Master' and 'Lord,' and you say well, for indeed I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also should wash one another's feet.2
15 For I have given you this as an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
16 Truly, truly, I say to you that the servant is not greater than his lord; neither is he who is sent, greater than he who has sent him.
|John 15:20 |
20 Remember the word that I said to you, 'The servant is not greater than his lord.' If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word [and practiced my teachings], they will keep yours also.
