2 Then the twelve called all the disciples to them, and said, "It is not reasonable that we should neglect the word of God, and serve tables."
7 And the word of God increased; the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; and they also took John [whose surname was Mark] as their helper.
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak the word of God openly. [Them speaking the Word of God would hardly be worthy of reporting if they were simply reading or repeating scripture; these people were speaking the word from God's mouth that He had put in their mouths to speak.]
24 But the Word of God grew and multiplied.1 [Scripture did not grow and multiply; what did grow and multiply was the speaking of the word of God: the word from God's mouth that He put in the mouths of an increasing number of believers to speak.]

14 Now when the apostles who were in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
1 Now the apostles and brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
