30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent! And turn from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed; and get a new heart, a new mind, and a new spirit. For why will you die1, O house of Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore turn [from your evil ways] and live!"
|2 Kings 17:13|
13 Yet the LORD warned Israel and Judah through all the prophets and all the seers, saying, "Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and my statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your forefathers and sent to you by my servants the prophets."
11 Say to them, 'As I live, says the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel?' [So that no man would die while still sinning and lose his soul, God's grace has appeared to all men, Tit 2:11; the light (Christ) is given to all men so that they might believe, John 1:7,9; (a talent) measure of God's Spirit is given to all men to profit withal 1 Cor 12:7; and God's Spirit was poured out on all men at Pentecost, Acts 2:1-21.]
16 Wash yourself, make yourself clean; put away the evil of your deeds from before my eyes. Cease doing evil!
|Zechariah 1:4 |
4 Do not be like your forefathers, to whom the former prophets have cried, saying, "Thus says the Lord of hosts: Turn now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;" but they did not hear or listen to me, says the LORD.
