1 Now concerning the collection1 for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you do also:

2 Upon the first day of the week2 let every one of you set aside something, as God has prospered him, so that no collection will have to be taken when I come. [The first day of the week was when the early churches met, which this verse and others prove. They did not meet on the Sabbath, the seventh day. They met on the Lord's day, the day he was resurrected.]

2 Mark! In 1 Cor 16:1-2, the collection was taken on the first day of the week, not on the Jewish Sabbath. This proves that early Church did not meet on the Jewish 7th Day Sabbath, but met on the first day of the week. John referred to the Lord's day in Rev 1:10, "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day," thought to give importance to the first day by referencing the day of the week that the Lord was resurrected.
