7 So that you do not lack any [spiritual] gift; while you are waiting for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,2

Romans 8:25

Display Chapter and Footnotes

25 But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it [salvation] with patient endurance. [Notice, Paul tells them that if they have not seen their salvation, they are to wait for it with patient endurance. This is another proof that salvation comes to those who heed and obey the spoken-to-them commands of God that they hear as they persistently and patiently wait on Him, Heb 5:9, 9:28. Reading about being saved, or preachers telling us that we are saved, or saying that we are saved, is not seeing or experiencing salvation; so how do we see salvation — when we see Jesus bring our salvation in this present life. Just like we, through the Spirit, by faith, patiently wait for the hope of righteousness, Gal 5:5, we wait for salvation. From the Word of the Lord within: "You must wait on the Lord to receive salvation."]

James 5:7

7 Therefore brothers be patient until the coming of the Lord.2 Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and waits patiently for it, until he receives the early and the latter rain.

Hebrews 9:28

Display Chapter and Footnotes

28 So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who persistently and patiently wait for him he will appear the second time, not to bear sin, but to bring full salvation.3 [Those who are persistently and patiently waiting on God, see Jesus appear in their hearts, and see Jesus bring their salvation, which is to be delivered (freed) from all sin. To wait on God is to persistently sit in humble silence, listen for his voice and words, watch for his revelations, hear his commands, and then obey Him; only those who heed and obey Him receive eternal salvation. Heb 5:9. But if we hope for what we do not yet see, then we wait for it [salvation] with patient endurance, Rom 8:25; we wait for salvation. From the Word of the Lord within: "You must wait on the Lord to receive salvation."]

2 Peter 3:12

Display Chapter and Footnotes

12 While waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of Christ,3 in which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? [Notice! If you can hasten the coming of the day of the Lord, then obviously it is a personal experience. Waiting for God hastens the day of Christ, when Jesus appears in a purified heart, when you are translated out of the physical dimension to the Kingdom of Heaven; the world passes away and disappears. 1 John 2:7. To wait on God is to listen, watch, and obey.]

Galatians 5:5

Display Chapter and Footnotes

5 For we, through the Spirit, by faith, patiently wait for the hope of righteousness.1 [Faith comes with the receipt of the fruit of the Spirit. Gal 5:22-23. Only when you have produced fruit, walking in love, fulfilling the law, then you are imputed righteous; and then no law applies to you. Gal 5:23. Later, when you have been born again to become a new creature that is in union with Christ and the Father, then you possess the righteousness of God; then is the end of imputation and belief. See Footnote 3 of 1 John 3 for the definition of righteousness.]

Romans 8:23

Display Chapter and Footnotes

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, that is, the redemption of our body. [Notice, they are waiting on redemption. How does one wait? To wait on God is to persistently sit in humble silence, listen for his voice and words, watch for his revelations, hear his commands, and then obey Him; only those who heed and obey Him receive eternal salvation, Heb 5:9; redemption occurs with the receipt of eternal salvation which is to be seen, witnessed.]

2 Thessalonians 3:5

1 Thessalonians 1:10

Display Chapter and Footnotes

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven,2 whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.
