|1 Corinthians 15:51-53|
51 Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.7
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption,8 and this mortal must put on immortality.
|1 Thessalonians 4:16 |
16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead with Christ [the anointing] will rise first. [This verse formed the rapture theory, invented by John Darby in 1830. From the Word of the Lord within: : "The rapture — an embarrassment." It is an embarrassment to God and His disciples actually taught by Him. Why? Just like He said regarding those who think God excuses sin in believers: "it's not fair, but they don't care. God is just beyond measure. See myself — thus no sin has a place in me. Sin in believers is intolerable."]
