1 John 2:18-19,4:2-3

 18 Little children, it is the last hour ; and as you have heard that antichrist will come, even now many antichrists have come. By this we know that it is the last hour. [An antichrist is anyone preaching or teaching whose thoughts, words, and deeds are not controlled by the anointing, which is Jesus to come into man's flesh in sufficient measure to guide and control his thoughts, words, and deeds — thus being a person's true Lord. You can call Him Lord and Master, but if you are still sinning you deny Him as Lord; even Judas called Him Lord and Master. The antichrists were believers who left them; from the Word of the Lord within: "they did not have patience." Ambitious to preach or teach, seeking their own glory, eager for income, still thinking their own thoughts, they went out as the many false prophets have gone out into the world. Even 2000 years ago, John said many antichrists had come, and Paul said many preached for financial gain as unruly, vain talkers, and deceivers. — The Greek for children in this verse is paidia <3813>, the young children that know the Father; these are not the little children disciples who still sin.]

 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us; but they went out, so that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.4 [The antichrists were believers who left them, to preach or teach their vain opinions from their carnal minds and evil imaginations; from the Word of the Lord within: "they did not have patience." Without patience to endure the cross, suffering, and tribulation to the end, they went out as the many false prophets have gone out into the world, who tried to seduce the true Christians with their false gospel and false Jesus, promising liberty without the necessity of mortifying the sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial. The ease of their false gospel became pervasive, until today all of Christendom ignores the Bible's many specific exclusions, the requirements, and the qualifying conditions of salvation. See Penington's writing on Babylon to understand more how the spirit of antichrist rules Christendom.]

 2 By this know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses (acknowledges, owns, admits) Jesus as the Christ (anointing) who has come in the flesh is from God; [To confess Jesus Christ who has come in the flesh, is to confess like Paul: It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Gal 2:20; Jesus ruled Paul's thoughts, words, and deeds — even supplying the thoughts with the mind of Christ. Christendom presumes Jesus to be their Lord, but their continuing in sin denies him as their Lord and Master. From the Word of the Lord within: "You are the child of whom you obey. Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master."]

 3 And every spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard would come, and even now it is already in the world.2 [John told us in 1 John 2:18-19 that many antichrists had already come, who had gone out from among them; who tried to seduce the true Christians with their false gospel and false Jesus. So they could not confess Jesus to rule their thoughts, words, and deeds because they preached that being totally unnecessary according to their false gospel. From the Word of the Lord within: "they did not have patience." They did not have the patience to follow the hard, narrow way of the cross that the Apostles preached; being tempted and ambitious to teach before being perfected and authorized, they fell away to instead preach Christian liberty from the law without the necessity of first crucifying their sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial. Their doctrines quickly became pervasive and dominated Christendom, and so Christendom became the whore of Babylon by adulterating with the kings of the earth, (the Roman Emperors), who declared their doctrines to be the only ones allowed; and then Christendom, aided by the crushing boot of the Roman Empire, persecuted and killed the true saints. John later saw and prophesied how the whole world would worship Satan, following the false prophets' beastly religion with horns like a lamb. And so all of Christendom became the whore of Babylon, rejecting the cross as foolishness and ignoring the Bible's many specific exclusions, the requirements, and the qualifying conditions of salvation. See Penington's writing on Babylon to understand more how the spirit of antichrist rules Christendom.]

 3 Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day will not come, until a falling away has come first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition;

 4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God [your heart], proclaiming himself to be God.1

 5 Do you not remember that when I was with you, I told you these things?

 6 And now you know what restrains him so that he might be revealed in his time.

 7 For the mystery of iniquity [lawlessness, sin] is already at work; only He who now restrains it allows it, until he [it] appears out from your midst.

 8 And then that wicked one [the man of sin with Satan's spirit within you] will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and destroy with the brightness of his coming.

 9 Even him, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it were wounded to death; but his deadly wound was healed; and all the world followed the beast in wonder and admiration.

 4 And they worshipped the dragon who gave power to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"1 [All the world worships the dragon, who is Satan, the god of this world who excuses sin for some religious act: a special prayer, special food, washings, meditation, a contribution, service to the poor, etc. — giving man the license to live however he chooses in his lusts and pride. The world thinks they are worshipping the one true God, but they have been deceived and so are worshipping Satan instead.]

 5 And a mouth was given to him, speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty two months.

 7 And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them; and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations .

 8 All who dwell upon the earth will worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

 11 Then I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.

 12 And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.2
