|1 John 4:1-3|
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.1 [The false prophets are those who did not have the patience to stay in the cross; and being tempted to preach before being perfected by the Spirit, they fell away from the true believers to go out into the world, teaching a different gospel and a different Jesus. John is warning the true Christian believers to beware of those who come dressed in sheep's clothing, claiming to be Christians, just as Jesus warned us about false prophets that would come, and so did Jude, and Paul, and Peter also warn us. They appear to be Christians, but deny the cross, deny the possibility of perfection, deny the possibility of union with Christ and the Father, promise liberty to those just beginning repentance, and promote lawlessness covered by what they call "grace."]
2 By this know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses (acknowledges, owns, admits) Jesus as the Christ (anointing) who has come in the flesh is from God; [To confess Jesus Christ who has come in the flesh, is to confess like Paul: It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Gal 2:20; Jesus ruled Paul's thoughts, words, and deeds — even supplying the thoughts with the mind of Christ. Christendom presumes Jesus to be their Lord, but their continuing in sin denies him as their Lord and Master. From the Word of the Lord within: "You are the child of whom you obey. Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master."]
3 And every spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ is not of God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard would come, and even now it is already in the world.2 [John told us in 1 John 2:18-19 that many antichrists had already come, who had gone out from among them; who tried to seduce the true Christians with their false gospel and false Jesus. So they could not confess Jesus to rule their thoughts, words, and deeds because they preached that being totally unnecessary according to their false gospel. From the Word of the Lord within: "they did not have patience." They did not have the patience to follow the hard, narrow way of the cross that the Apostles preached; being tempted and ambitious to teach before being perfected and authorized, they fell away to instead preach Christian liberty from the law without the necessity of first crucifying their sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial. Their doctrines quickly became pervasive and dominated Christendom, and so Christendom became the whore of Babylon by adulterating with the kings of the earth, (the Roman Emperors), who declared their doctrines to be the only ones allowed; and then Christendom, aided by the crushing boot of the Roman Empire, persecuted and killed the true saints. John later saw and prophesied how the whole world would worship Satan, following the false prophets' beastly religion with horns like a lamb. And so all of Christendom became the whore of Babylon, rejecting the cross as foolishness and ignoring the Bible's many specific exclusions, the requirements, and the qualifying conditions of salvation. See Penington's writing on Babylon to understand more how the spirit of antichrist rules Christendom.]
|2 John 1:7|
7 For many deceivers have entered into the world, people who do not confess Jesus as Christ [the anointing] coming in their flesh. This is the deceiver and an antichrist.2 [An antichrist is anyone preaching or teaching whose thoughts, words, and deeds are not controlled by the anointing, which is Jesus to come into man's flesh in sufficient measure to guide and control his thoughts, words, and deeds — thus being a person's true Lord. You can call Him Lord and Master, but if you are still sinning you deny Him as Lord; even Judas called Him Lord and Master. The antichrists were believers who left them; from the Word of the Lord within: "they did not have patience." Ambitious to preach or teach, seeking their own glory, eager for income, still thinking their own thoughts, they went out as the many false prophets have gone out into the world. Even 2000 years ago, John said many antichrists had come, and Paul said many preached for financial gain as unruly, vain talkers, and deceivers.]
4 For there are certain men who have crept in unnoticed, written about long ago, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lawlessness and wantonness, a license for immorality; and deny and disown our only Master and Lord Jesus Christ.2 [These men transferred the meaning of grace from the truth: that with repentance the Spirit of God commands us to deny lusts and ungodliness as it purifies us to be able to live a soberly, godly life in this present world — transferred instead to the twisted lie that grace excuses all past, present, and future sins in believers, thereby excusing believers to live in their lusts and pride as they please with no laws. The false church has made the blood of Jesus an excuse for evil; therefore they have made His blood an unholy thing; and so they trample on the son of God and show contempt for grace. Heb 10:29. It is not what one says that makes Jesus their Lord or Master, but their deeds. By claiming grace excuses all continuing to sin, these men denied and disowned Jesus as their Lord and Master, who said, "repent or perish, and sin no more." From the Word of the Lord within: "Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master. Do you agree with any who in their arrogance have stated that God excuses evil in believers? It's not fair, but they don't care. They have taken the Bible and made it an unholy thing used to justify their immersion in sin. They would have no laws. The new law became unrighteousness. Christianity has no idea what I am or for what I stand." Peter identified the false christian leaders of his time also: "For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they lure through the lusts of the flesh and much wantonness, those who were barely escaping from those who live in error. Although these false teachers promise them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of corruption [sin, immorality]; for by whatever a man is overcome, he is enslaved." 2 Peter 2:18-19. False teachers promise liberty to continue in sin, but Jesus said, "Truly, Truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." John 8:34. The wages of sin is death. Rom 6:23. Not only has Christianity made grace a license for immorality, but Christianity has caused their believers' consciences to be seared as with a hot iron, leaving them indifferent to sin and evil. There is a liberty for a crucified son of God, free from all sin, walking in love and fulfilling the law; but until you are free from all sin, you are subject to being banned from heaven when you die.]
9 For this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the LORD;
10 Who say to the seers, "Do not see;" and to the prophets, "Do not prophesy what is right to us, speak smooth things to us, prophesy deceits and illusions.

18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own bellies [lusts and desires]; and by fair speaking and captivating language deceive the hearts of the simple.
