|1 Timothy 1 |
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the command of God our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, who is our hope,
To Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
I urged you to remain in Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, so that you might warn certain people not to teach a different doctrine,
Nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which foster irrelevant conjectures rather than godly edifying which is in faith.
For the purpose of all the commandments is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of sincere faith,
From which some have missed the mark and turned aside to vain and irrelevant doctrines, [What did these false prophets and teachers do to "miss the mark?" They preached a different gospel and different Jesus with vain and useless doctrines instead; and that is exactly what all of Christianity preaches today. Ignoring the only possible way: to bear the inward cross of self-denial; and ignoring the requirements, conditions, and exclusions of salvation; Christianity leads billions to certain destruction of their souls and a long and very painful forced repentance in the next life, called Hell. Christendom denies the cross is necessary, and so Christendom is perishing for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing; ..their end is destruction, their God is the belly [appetites, lusts], and whose glory is their shame, and they think on earthly things. 1 Cor 1:18, Phil 3:18-19. From the Word of the Lord within: "I am against the shepherds, who have prophesied a false salvation. You must have a devotion to the law that is on every man's heart; you must listen; and you must obey. What is necessary for salvation? — obedience to commands heard. Salvation is not expectation. Salvation is to be delivered from sin. You must wait on the Lord to receive salvation."]
Desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say, nor the things that they assert.
But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully.
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and mothers, for manslayers, [Christianity would have you believe you are righteous, not subject to any law, because you believe in Jesus; but until your selfish spirit has been crucified on the inward cross of self-denial to freed of all sin, you are still a lawless sinner without a hint of righteousness. From the Word of the Lord within: "Do not be misled over righteousness; all sin is unrighteousness. There is a righteousness imputed only after death. There are no laws when you are under complete control of the spirit; you walk in love in obedience as prompted — you don't walk in restricted flesh. He who is righteous is done with sin."]
For the sexually immoral people, for homosexuals, for thieves, for liars, for perjurers, and any others that live contrary to sound doctrine, [When contemplating the unsound doctrine of those who think they have the righteousness of Christ because they believe that Jesus is the son of God, the Word of the Lord within said: "They throw the word 'righteousness' around without any understanding of what it means. They are filthy dreamers." They are filthy because their hearts are defiled with all manner of sins they still commit with disregard to the Lord's many warnings and requirements, and they are dreaming that they are righteous.]
According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me for this, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to this ministry.
Although before I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious; but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, along with faith and love, which are in Christ Jesus.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.
However for this reason I obtained mercy, so that in me, the worst, Jesus Christ might show the greatness of his longsuffering and patience, as an example to those who would believe on him for life everlasting.
Now to the King eternal, immortal and invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Timothy, my son, I entrust this admonition to you, in accordance with the previous prophecies about you; so that being aided by them, you might wage a good warfare,
Holding a firm faith with a good conscience, which some have rejected, making shipwreck of their faith. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Remain faithful to the promises. Be firm, not petulant. Doubt not, faint not, forget not. Accept everything; take offence at nothing; just sit and wait."]
Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
