13 For we write nothing to you, other than what you may read and understand, which I hope you will understand, even to the end;1

14 As you have understood us in part, I hope that you can be proud of us, even as we will also be proud of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.2 [The second coming and the day of the Lord are one in the same personal experience, which occurs for all men in every generation. For those who are crucified to spiritually die on the inward cross of self-denial, the second coming occurs as the Lord appears after the baptism of fire has burned all the remaining sin in them. Their body dies in this baptism of fire and death, but the believer is raised (resurrected) with Christ and translated into the kingdom of God. Though raised with Christ to live in the heavens, they still walk the earth as a new creature together, in union with the Lord. From the Word of the Lord within: "The second coming is a personal experience. The second coming is in the hearts of purified believers. You can live in heaven and still walk the earth." For those who physically die without having been purified on the inward cross and who are still slaves to sin, the appearance of the Lord when they physically die is a terror for they will suddenly see how hopelessly evil they are.]

2 The Day of the Lord is the Second Appearance of Jesus, the revelation of Jesus Christ, which occurs in the hearts of those believers who have purified their hearts by faith and purified their souls by obedience to the word of truth. Because when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone with this hope purifies himself, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:2-3. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Mat 5:8. He appears to the purified heart of a believer — he is seen. This is his second appearance - this time to the purified in heart. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 4:6. Christ is revealed in your heart; you see, and have knowledge of, the glory of God. The morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Pet 1:19. Jesus is resurrected in us to be our true Lord. 2 Cor 4:14, Col 2:12,3:1, Eph 2:6. Paul said: I neither received it [the gospel] from a man, nor was I taught it, but rather through the revelation of Jesus Christ.. for it pleased God ..to reveal his Son in me. Gal 1:12,15-16.
