|2 Corinthians 3:6|
6 Who has made us able ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter [the Bible], but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.1 [The letter is the scriptures. Little by little each spoken word from His Spirit that you hear is engrafted into your heart and imparts the life of God to you making you a little more pure.]
14 Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in my name. I did not send them, neither have I commanded them, nor spoken to them.1 They prophesy to you a false vision and divination, worthless from the deceit of their heart.
2 "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination, 'Hear the word of the LORD,'
10 Because they have seduced my people saying, 'Peace!' When there is no peace.1 And one builds a wall, and lo, others [false prophets] daub it with untempered mortar, [Peace is the fruit of righteousness, which is quietness and confident trust, (unquestionable assurance), forever. Isa 32:17. Until we have been purified and freed from all sin, there is no peace or righteousness. See the definition of righteousness in 1 John 3:7's commentary and footnote to understand what it means and what it takes to become righteous and have peace.]
22 Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad, and have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way, by [falsely] promising him life.3
|Jeremiah 5:31 |
31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their own means [authority]; and my people love to have it so;4 but what will you do in the end of it?"
