2 Peter 2:18-19 Display Chapter and Footnotes   18 For speaking great swelling words of vanity, they lure through the lusts of the flesh and much wantonness, those who were barely escaping from those who live in error. [To live in error is to live in sin.] 19 Although these false teachers promise them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of corruption [sin, immorality]; for by whatever a man is overcome, he is enslaved.4 [The blind guides of Christianity teach the liberty of consequence-free sin and that there is no need to bear the cross; but Jesus said, "Unless you repent, all of you will perish," Luke 13:3,5; and Paul said, "The wages of sin is death," Rom 6:23. From the Word of the Lord within: "I am against the shepherds, who have prophesied a false salvation. Consequence-free sin does not exist. There are many that deny the cross and all that is necessary." There is a liberty for a crucified son of God, freed from all sin, walking in the royal law of love and fulfilling the law; but until that occurs, you will be banned from heaven when you die.] |
4 speaking great swelling words of vanity, they lure through the lusts of the flesh and much wantonness, those who were barely escaping from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of corruption [sin, immorality]; for by whatever a man is overcome, he is enslaved. The ministers today will freely admit they are sinners (though don't have any idea what sin is); so if your minister sins, he is a slave to sin; says Jesus: I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. John 8:34. And they tell you that you are righteous, with no need to stop sinning yourselves — saying that Jesus has paid for all your sins — so, live free in your sins — Just like Peter described 2000 years ago. And if you believe them, you are worse off being in their sect, than if you had never heard of God.
