|2 Thessalonians 2:10-12|
10 And with all the deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie;
12 So that all those might be damned who do not believe the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness.2
3 Among whom we also all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts of our mind; and were by nature the children of wrath and the object of His indignation, just as the rest of mankind.1 [Notice! All mankind walks in sinful lusts, according to the desires of their flesh and thoughts of their mind, which is under Satan's direction. However, Paul is speaking to crucified believers, who are no longer controlled by the lusts of their flesh; who no longer think their own thoughts, whose sinful nature has been destroyed, including its carnal mind, replaced by the mind of Christ.]
12 Do not allow sin to reign as king in your mortal body, that you would yield to its desires and serve its lusts and evil passions. [The Romans had been freed from sin, but they could still fall to temptation if they were not watchful; they had a perfection like Adam and Eve. They were yet to advance to the union with Christ as a son of God to be protected from ever sinning again.]
|Titus 2:12 |
12 Teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and how to live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [Grace is in the heart of every man, waiting for a man to turn inward to be taught and changed to become righteous, pure, and holy. A "believer" who dies still sinning is defiled and banned from heaven; grace is not an excuse to bypass judgment or Hell for him; every man is judged by his words and works.]
