|Ecclesiastes 12:1 |
1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,1 while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;
1 Remember your creator in the days of your youth. Those who seek me early shall find me. Prov 8:17. This is a wonderful promise and reassurance to the youthful seekers of God. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth. Lam 3:27. Jesus said: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Mat 11:29-30. As William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, said in his farewell advice to his family and children:
In your youthful days seek after the Lord, that you may find Him; remembering his great love in creating you; that you are not beasts, plants, or stones, but that He has kept you, and given you his grace within, and substance without, and provided plentifully for you. This remember in your youth, that you may be kept from the evil of the world; for in age it will be harder to overcome the temptations of it.
