|Ephesians 4:20-21 |
20 But you have learned differently from Christ;
21 Assuming you have actually heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus.6 [We begin hearing the small still voice. We listen to hear His spoken words and learn from the Holy Spirit and the Word and Light in our hearts; ready to teach us all things and lead us into all truth; ready to teach us what to deny and how to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world; and ready to purify us so that we might serve Him and do virtuous works of glory to the Father. When we are sufficiently crucified, Jesus himself appears and speaks to us with a voice like thunder over the waters described in many Old Testament passages. As we hear His voice for the first time, He dispenses final judgment to us, crushes Satan under our feet, and we pass from death to eternal life. From the word of the Lord within: "You will hear the truth at final judgment. Truly, I say to you, all the truth is magnificent; you will marvel when you see it. Even Job marveled at what he saw. To be in Jesus is to be in truth."]
6 But you have learned differently from Christ; assuming you have actually heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus. Note! Paul says you must have learned from Christ Himself; you must have heard from Jesus and been taught by Jesus. Because Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever, Heb 13:8, and because He spoke to the early church, He still speaks now. Those who say the Bible is a closed book and that God no longer speaks to us are proved wrong by the Bible they claim is their source of truth, which is contrary to this verse too: as the truth is in Jesus. They can't hear because they are teaching insidious errors.
Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. Heb 12:25. To hear Him, to be taught by Him, to be cleansed by Him, you must go to Him directly, (which is not reading the Bible), by persistently and patiently sitting in humble silence as you wait on Him, listening for His words, watching for His revelations, hearing, and then obeying whatever He commands. Doing this daily is picking up your cross and following (obeying) Him. Each word you hear from Him imparts the life of God to you; each word you hear reveals truth; each word your hear forms Christ within you; until He is fully formed and resurrected in you to be your ruling Lord of all your thoughts, words, and deeds — then you are righteous because everything you do is directed by God, perfect, pure and right.
