30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones.4

4 For we are of his body, of his flesh and of his bones. The portion "of his flesh and of his bones" is found in most Byzantine manuscripts but is absent from the Alexandrian manuscripts; so it is generally considered to have been added by some scribe, which is more likely than a different scribe missing the trailing word. Nevertheless, George Fox and several early Quakers frequently referenced this text to show the extent of union that exists in a delivered-from-sin believer with Christ. This echoes the union of Eve, taken from Adam's flesh in Gen 2:23.
