1 I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows. Today we are in spiritual Sodom and Egypt, with its fleshpots and pleasures. Today Pharaoh is the Spirit of Satan within us that rules us, who does not want to be burned up by the Lord's appearance in our hearts. But there are some who mourn their slavery to sin. There are some who know they are slaves, laboring for the wrong things in life. There are some who have gone to the Lord to wait on him, and he has shown them how deeply enslaved they are. And for those who wish to become free, he whom Moses was just a shadow, is our leader and captain who will destroy the works of the devil within us and redeem us for all iniquity to purify us to become for himself a people who are his very own, zealous for works of love.
