|Galatians 5:19-21 |
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: sexual immorality (including adultery and fornication), impurity, lust, [The works of the flesh are sin, and the wages of sin are death. From the Word of the Lord within: "Consequence-free sin does not exist; the consequences are truly staggering. There is a war you must win: sin must be overcome; the fleshly lusts war against your soul."]
20 Idolatry (including covetousness), sorcery, hatred, arguments, jealousy, anger, ambition, divisiveness, factions, [From the Word of the Lord within: "Do not be misled; anger must be eliminated to enter the kingdom."]
21 Envy, drunkenness, revelry (partying), and the like; which I say beforehand, as I have said before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.4 [All men do works of the flesh because their hearts are defiled until they have been crucified on the inward cross of self-denial, and in no way shall there enter into heaven anything that is defiled. Rev 21:27]
4 Paul discloses the fine print of the covenant, identifying the exclusions of "just believe in Jesus to be saved:" sexual immorality (including adultery and fornication), impurity, lust, idolatry (including covetousness), sorcery, hatred, arguments, jealousy, anger, ambition, divisiveness, factions, envy, drunkenness, revelry (partying), and the like, which I tell you before, as I have also told you in times past, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul also warns, You can be sure: No sexually immoral, or impure, or covetous person, who is an is idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with vain words. For because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Eph 5:5-6. And Jesus tells us: For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man. Mark 7:21-23. Everyone with any of these evils, even those who call themselves Christians, will be banned from heaven. If people with these kinds of selfish behavior were allowed in heaven, heaven would be as bad as earth. Only former sinners enter heaven. There is no such thing as a sinner saved still sinning; a saved sinner, is an oxymoron. Look at Jesus; is there any sin in him? Jesus is holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners, Heb 7:26. Do you expect him to join his body in marriage to wicked people still sinning? I assure you, only the lovely, pure, holy bride will he join.
