 ¹ This is the book of the offspring of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.

 ²  He created them male and female and blessed them and called them Adam [man], in the day when they were created.

 ³ When Adam had lived a hundred and thirty years, he had a son in his own likeness, and after his own image; and he called him Seth.

 ⁴ And Adam lived eight hundred years after Seth was born; and he had other sons and daughters.

 ⁵ And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, then he died.

 ⁶ When Seth had lived a hundred and five years, he had Enos.

 ⁷ And Seth lived eight hundred and seven years after Enos was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ⁸ And all the days that Seth lived were nine hundred and twelve years; then he died.

 ⁹ When Enos had lived ninety years, he had Cainan.

 ¹⁰ And Enos lived eight hundred and fifteen years after Cainan was born, and had other sons and daughters.

 ¹¹ And all the days that Enos lived were nine hundred and five years; then he died.

 ¹² When Cainan had lived seventy years, he had Mahalaleel.

 ¹³ And Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years after Mahalaleel was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ¹⁴ And all the days that Cainan lived were nine hundred and ten years; then he died.

 ¹⁵ When Mahalaleel had lived sixty five years, he had Jared.

 ¹⁶ And Mahalaleel lived eight hundred and thirty years after Jared was born, and had other sons and daughters.

 ¹⁷ And all the days that Mahalaleel lived were eight hundred and ninety five years; then he died.

 ¹⁸ When Jared had lived a hundred and sixty two years, and he had Enoch.

 ¹⁹ And Jared lived eight hundred years after Enoch was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ²⁰ And all the days that Jared lived were nine hundred and sixty two years; then he died.

 ²¹ When Enoch had lived sixty five years, and had Methuselah.

 ²² And Enoch walked with God for three hundred years after Methuselah was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ²³ And all the days that Enoch lived were three hundred and sixty five years.

 ²⁴ And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

 ²⁵ When Methuselah had lived a hundred and eighty seven years, he had Lamech.

 ²⁶ And Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty two years after Lamech was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ²⁷ And all the days that Methuselah lived were nine hundred and sixty nine years; then he died.

 ²⁸ When Lamech had lived a hundred and eighty two years, he had a son.

 ²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort us in the work and toil of our hands, because of the ground being cursed by the LORD."

 ³⁰ And Lamech lived five hundred and ninety five years after Noah was born, and he had other sons and daughters.

 ³¹ And all the days that Lamech lived were seven hundred and seventy seven years; then he died.

 ³² And When Noah was five hundred years old, he had Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
