29 For our God is a consuming fire. [He burns by fire the sin in our hearts, destroying the works of the devil. For those who have endured on the inward cross, his fire is the one baptism, the baptism of fire, which is the baptism of death; and then those true seekers are raised (resurrected) with Christ to be a new creature.]

[For those who die still sinning: "Wail for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as destruction from the Almighty," Isa 13:6; "For behold, the day comes that shall burn like an oven, and all the proud, yes, and all who do wickedly, will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch." Mal 4:1. "Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not even deliver themselves from the power of the flame; here is no coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before. Isa 47:14]
