Isaiah 24

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

1 [This chapter is usually thought to be parallel and similar to the book of Revelation. However, as the footnote to Revelation 21.1 explains, the seals, trumpets, witnesses, and beasts in the book of Revelation are not physical occurrences, but are personal experiences in the hearts of true, persistent believers, who die to self on the inward cross of self-denial; and there are several testimonies of that having occurred in the early Quakers, (in Rev 5, Rev 11, Rev 13, Rev 16, Rev 21). This chapter could easily be interpreted similarly; there are many parallel events. The many messages from the Word of the Lord within, (listed below in Footnote 2), seem to, (based on the limitations of my earthly mind), refer to this earth; however, so great is the mystery of godliness, so great is the mystery of an earth within each man's heart, so great is the mystery of Revelation being a personal experience, it is entirely possible that all the below messages refer to the earth within each man's heart; that earth being thinned of all sinners, populated and ruled by the Lord through His remaining, perfected saints whose thoughts, words, and deeds are all commanded by Him. It is also possible that the messages apply to both the earth we know as well as the earth in every man's heart. I truly don't know if this chapter refers to the earth we know, or if it refers to the earth in every man's heart, or if it refers to both. When I asked to which earth the below messages referred, His answer was two-fold: 1) "there are one thousand murders each day", and 2) as paraphrased, it is your job to report the messages, not explain to what they apply. Apparently this intentionally remains a mystery.

Messages, (received in late April 2013), from the Word of the Lord within were:

"The whole world believes what is about to happen couldn't happen."

"My intent is to shake the entire world into a knowledge of my being."

In order to shake the entire world into a knowledge of His being, I believe the Lord is more likely to effect powerful, supernatural miracles that cannot be explained away, rather than some catastrophe that can be rationalized as natural. The more likely sequence of events is: first convincing miracles, then warnings to herald the coming events, and later the troubles themselves. Convincing miracles would be performed by perfected members of His body, and the miracles would necessarily be on a scale far beyond anything the world thinks is remotely possible.

Based on the above sequence of events, plus the absolute reliability of Fox's and other early Quakers' testimonies of the seals, trumpets, and vials of Revelation being a personal experience, we should focus only on expecting personal troubles, trials, and tribulations so that we can enter the kingdom and be prepared for whatever physical events occur afterwards. The Lord has previously said: "I will warn people about the coming troubles, about which there is no comparison. I will give ample time before the destruction of sin." When you, (along with the rest of the world), hear the warnings clearly stated, you will know to complete any required preparations. ]

1 This Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad its inhabitants.

2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.

3 The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled, for the LORD has spoken this word.

4 The earth mourns and fades away, the world languishes and fades away, the haughty people of the earth become feeble.

5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting covenant.1 [They have made grace a license for immorality; they have made the blood of Jesus an unholy thing, an excuse for continuing in sin and ignoring all laws; they have transgressed the law and broken the covenant. From the Word of the Lord within: "Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master. For half of Christianity the blood will be disastrous. They would have no laws. The new law became unrighteousness. The covenant of the Lord is a breakage of the people." Those of you who think the blood of Jesus excuses your past, present, and future sins; you have broken the covenant of the Lord, you have made his blood evil and unholy, and you have shown contempt for the Spirit of grace.]

6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell in it are desolate; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.2 [The earth has become so evil, it must be purged; as it was purged in the time of Noah, so it is about to be thinned. From the Word of the Lord within: "Long have we tolerated evil in the world; it is no longer tolerable. A purge must take place; deaths are necessary. All is being done for the sake of the children."]

7 The new wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry hearted sigh.

8 The mirth of the tambourine ceases, the noise of those who rejoice ends, the joy of the harp ceases.

9 They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.

10 The city of confusion is broken down; every house is shut up, so that no man may come in.

11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.

12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is battered with destruction.

13 When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, it shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, and the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

15 Therefore glorify the LORD in the dawn's light, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

16 From the uttermost part of the earth we have heard songs: "Glory to the Righteous One." But I said, "My leanness, my leanness, woe to me! The treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yes, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously."3

17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.

18 And it shall come to pass, that he who flees from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit, and he who comes up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare; for the windows from on high are open,4 and the foundations of the earth shake.

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is dissolved, the earth is exceedingly moved.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard [earthquakes], and shall be removed like a cottage; and its transgression shall be heavy upon it, and it will fall, and not rise again.5

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD will punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. [Today every man on the earth is his own king. He conducts his life without subservience to anyone, much less to God. He walks in his carnal mind, in the flesh, following the imagination of his own heart, which is worse than serving stone and wooden idols. The host of the high ones are the demons who will be removed from the earth and at long last punished.]

22 And they will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and will they be punished after many days.

23 Then the moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed for the LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients, gloriously.
