Isaiah 59:9-10

Display Chapter and Footnotes

9 Therefore justice is far from us, nor does righteousness overtake us; we wait for light, but see only darkness; we wait for a bright light, but we walk about in darkness.

10 We grope for the wall like the blind, we grope as if we had no eyes; we stumble at noon day as if it were night; among the strong, we are like dead men.1 [The heart of every man is evil until it is purified when the light arises in his heart so that he sees by the light of God, seeing what God would have him do and say for all his words to speak and actions to do. Until the light arises, a man walks as a blind man, or a man in the dark; he bounces off walls, trying this, and trying that; ever failing, ever hitting walls, ever stumbling, falling into ditches. Without God, we are unable to make right decisions; the best we can do is to choose the least evil alternative, which is still evil. From the Word of the Lord within: "All sin is darkness. He who seeks not to hear my voice gropes in the dark. Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say. Unless the Lord guides you, you have no chance."]

1 we wait for light, but see only darkness; we wait for a bright light, but we walk about in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, we grope as if we had no eyes; we stumble at noon day as if it were night; among the strong, we are like dead men. Until a man has been purified and the light arises in his heart, so that he sees with the eyes of God, seeing only what is virtuous and ordered by God, a man walks as a blind man, or a man in the dark. He bounces off walls, trying this, and trying that; ever failing, ever hitting walls, ever stumbling, falling into ditches. Without God, we are unable to make right decisions; the best we can do is to choose the least evil alternative, which is still evil.

From the Word of the Lord within, "He who seeks not to hear my voice gropes in the dark. Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say. Unless the Lord guides you, you have no chance."

Regarding those who come to this web site and refuse its message, the Word of the Lord within said, "They refuse and continue to grope in the dark."

Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overcome you, because he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. John 12:35
The light of the body is the eye [spiritual eye]. If therefore your eye is single, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! Mat 6:22-23

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [Him is Jesus, the life and the light of men.]
The light shines in the darkness; and the darkness did not comprehend it. [But men in their darkness do not understand.] John 1:4-5

I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12
