Isaiah 5:20 Display Chapter and Footnotes   20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!2 |
2 Woe to those who call evil, good; and darkness, light. This is exactly what Christendom does today. They tell people they are righteous while still sinning; they excuse sin, ignoring all or Jesus' warnings: Sin no more! Repent or perish! [to lose your soul ]. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell. Mark 9:43,45,47-48. 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.' John 8:34
