| Isaiah 25 Previous Chapter | Next Chapter 1 O Lord, you are my God. I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things; your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. 2 For you have made of a city a heap, of a defended city a ruin; a palace of strangers to be a city no more; it will never be built. 3 Therefore the strong people will glorify you, the city of the terrible nations will fear you. 4 For you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. 5 You will bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; as the heat in the shadow of a cloud, the branch of the terrible ones will be brought low. 6 And on this mountain the LORD of hosts will make to all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.1 7 And on this mountain he will destroy the covering of the face that is cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations.2 8 He will swallow up death in victory, and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces; and the rebuke of his people he will take away from all the earth; for the LORD has spoken it. 9 And it will be said in that day, "Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."3 10 For on this mountain the hand of the LORD will rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. 11 And he will spread forth his hands in the midst of them as he that swims spreads forth his hands to swim, and he will bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. 12 And he will bring down the fortress of the high fort of your walls and lay them low, and bring them to the ground, even to the dust. 1 And on this mountain the LORD of hosts will make to all people a feast of fat things. Note! All people will feast on the Holy Mountain, which is in heaven. Note! Not just those people who were purified on the earth, not just those people who were baptized, not just those people who said they believed in Jesus, not just the true Christians — but all people of the entire world for all times. 2 on this mountain he will destroy the covering of the face that is cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. The understanding of the peoples of the earth is veiled. They are covered so they cannot see the evil of their ways; neither can they understand how radically different from God they are, failing to measure up to what is required to dwell in heaven. When a man seeks God, that veil is removed by the Holy Spirit, which convinces a man of sin. The Holy Spirit is given to those who, when seeking the Lord's voice, are obedient to Him; and when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
3 Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. This speaks of a salvation that is witnessed, not presumed. From the Word of the Lord within: "Salvation is not expectation. Salvation is to be delivered from sin. Witness salvation."
Those who are persistently and patiently waiting on God, see Jesus appear in their hearts, and see Jesus bring their salvation, which is to be delivered (freed) from all sin. To wait on God is to persistently sit in humble silence, listen for his voice and words, watch for his revelations, hear his commands, and then obey Him; only those who heed and obey Him receive eternal salvation. Heb 5:9.
