Isaiah 15

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

 This is the prophesy concerning Moab because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste and brought to silence;

 He has gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep. Moab will wail over Nebo, and over Medeba; on all their heads will be baldness, and every beard cut off.

 In their streets they will gird themselves with sackcloth. On the tops of their houses and in their streets everyone will wail, weeping abundantly.

 And Heshbon will cry, as well as Elealeh. Their voices shall be heard even to Jahaz. Therefore the armed soldiers of Moab will cry out. Moab's life will be grievous to him.

 My heart cries out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee to Zoar, like a heifer three years old. In the climb to Luhith with weeping will they up; on the way to Horonaim they will raise up a cry about their destruction.

 For the waters of Nimrim have dried up, the hay has withered away, the grass fails, and there is no green thing.

 Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and what they have stored up, they will carry away to the brook of the willows [into Arabia].

 For the cry has gone all around the borders of Moab; its wailing to Eglaim and to Beerelim.

 The waters of Dimon will be full of blood for I will bring more upon Dimon, as lions upon them escape from Moab and upon the remnant of the land.
