If a man abides in me, and I in him, he produces much fruit; for without me you can do nothing. 6 If a man does not abide in me, he is thrown out like a branch, which withers; these branches are gathered up, cast into the fire, and are burned. 10 If you keep my commands [the commands you hear him speak to you from within your heart], you shall abide in my love;3 even as I have kept my Father's commands [that Jesus heard spoken to him], and abide in his love. | Luke 10:38-42 38 Now it came to pass as they went, that he entered into a certain village, and a woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word. [We hear his word from within our hearts. Rom 10:8,17.] 40 Now Martha was distracted with much serving, and so she came to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her that she should help me." 41 But Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things. 42 There is only one thing needed and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.4 [Jesus said to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness as our life's highest priority, Mat 6:33; and here Jesus tells us how, the one thing we need to do: to sit at His feet and listen to his words, which he speaks to us from within our hearts. To hear Him speak to us, we must sit in humble silence and wait — as we listen to hear and then obey; when we obey Him, we are following Jesus. From the Word of the Lord within: "In humble silence we sit and wait. Think on His name. Sit with me, and I will make you clean. Sit with me, and I will reveal all. Follow me as fast as you can; you start by sitting. If those who hear will obey, their progress will be swift. God is not found going to services or reading about him. There is only one thing needful. Hear me, my children. Come to me, and I will speak to your souls." Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and [then] you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:29] | 1 John 2:6,2:27-28 6 He who says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way that He walked. [We must be righteous as He is righteous, 1 John 3:7. We must be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect, Mat 5:48. We must be merciful as He is merciful, Luke 6:36. We must become pure as He is pure. 1 John 3:2-3. But as he who has called you is holy, so you be holy in all manner of conduct, 1 Pet 1:15. So that we walk as he walked, 1 John 2:6, and as he is, so are we in this present world. 1 John 4:17. There is no flexibility and no equivocation in any of these stated requirements.] 27 But the anointing that you have received from him abides in you, and you do not need any man to teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you all things and is truth, and is no lie; and even as it has taught you, abide in him.7[From the Word of the Lord within: "I choose whom to anoint; your response to my commands dictates my choice."] 28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming.8 [In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus is recorded saying that some then standing with him, 2000 years ago, would see his glorious coming in the clouds with the Kingdom before they died. In addition Paul, Jesus preaching, Jesus in Revelation, Peter, James, and John, — all said, soon, the time is near, a little while, he stands at the door. Christendom blithely ignores this gaping incongruity between what the Bible plainly states vs. what they are taught by their blind guides. It would be a cruel hoax to be waiting on Him to appear if the past 100 generations of believers actually had no hope of ever seeing Him. — The Greek for little children in this verse is Teknia <5040>; these little children are disciples yet to be freed from sin and without salvation.] | 1 John 3:6 6 Whoever abides in him does not sin; whoever sins has not seen Him or known Him. [To abide in Him, is to live in Him: to be in union with Him. You cannot be still sinning and know God or see God. Sin includes: anger, sexual immorality, lust, ambition, greed, envy, pride, partying, foolishness, profanity, lying, hating, dishonesty, cheating, etc. From the Word of the Lord within: "If all that profess me, would possess me. Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master. Do you know him or just pretend to know him; to know him is to have met him and listened to him. Seek the meeting." When you have been freed from all sin and are pure, you see Him, which is to see the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus, the substance and image of the invisible God. Then you truly know Him.
