Luke 13:24 Display Chapter and Footnotes   24 "Strive to enter in at the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter, and will not be able to.3 [Is saying the sinner's prayer, getting dunked in water, and eating bread/drinking grape juice, the narrow, difficult way that many would try to enter and be unable? No, because the instant, presumed salvation of Christendom's deficit sects is a make-believe salvation, fables, lies, deceptions — it is the wide and broad way that leads to destruction. The deficit sects of Christendom have totally lost the narrow, true way that few will find. From the Word of the Lord within: "Narrow, indeed, is the way. Strive to enter through the narrow gate. Few will find it. Men have stopped trying. They have plunged themselves into iniquity."] |
3 When asked if many would be saved, Jesus said few would be saved, for the gate is narrow and the way is difficult; many would seek to enter and be unable. Mat 7:13-14, Luke 13:23-24; and then he warned them about false prophets with a false salvation (see above footnote). Further he warns us by telling us that when he shuts the door to heaven, many thinking they have been saved and entitled to heaven will say to him: "Lord, Lord, open to us." But He will answer: 'I do not know you or where you come from.' And they will say: "We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets." And He replies: "I do not know you or where you come from; depart from me you workers of iniquity (sinners)." Many will say to me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? And in your name cast out demons? And in your name done many wonderful works?" And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you who work iniquity' [sin, lawlessness, or wickedness]. Mat 7:22-23.
The Lord is warning those who think they are Christians and still sin: 1) he doesn't know you, and 2) he will cast you into outer darkness, banned from heaven at judgment. From the Word of the Lord within: "I only know those who have been crucified." He knows everything, but his "knowing" you is for him to become one with you, which occurs after you have been crucified. You must dedicate yourself to silent listening to hear his voice, and then you must obey. If you listen and obey the word of God in your heart, your soul is purified by obedience to the truth, 1 Peter 1:22; and your heart is purified by faith that obeys. Acts 15:9. Jesus said: "There is only one thing needed, and Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her" — to sit at the feet of Jesus and hear his word. Luke 10:39-42... "All your holy ones are in your power. And they sit at your feet, each receiving your words." Deu 33:3. Christendom tells their members they can remain in sin and enter heaven when they die, but this is a lie and shows Christendom is Babylon; come out of her my people.
Regarding the few who would be saved. There are an estimated 2 billion so-called Christians in the world today. Does 2 billion people sound like a few to you? Is saying the sinner's prayer, getting dunked in water, and eating bread/drinking grape juice, the narrow, difficult way that many would try to enter and be unable? No, because the instant, presumed salvation of Christendom's deficit sects is a make-believe salvation, fables, lies, deceptions — it is the wide and broad way that leads to destruction. The deficit sects of Christendom have totally lost the narrow, true way that few will find; there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Pro 14:12, 16:25, 21:2. Salvation is to be delivered (freed) from sin. The false salvation of Christendom supposedly frees you from the guilt of sin, but leaves you a sinner to die in your sins; and then to be cast into the lake of fire with all who die in their sins.
Jesus tells us that few will find the narrow way, we know many will try to enter and be unable, we know that you must lose you life to find it, we know that we must suffer like him to reign with him, we know that we must take up our cross of self-denial daily to follow him — but we know it is possible. Possible, providing: 1) we have faith that God exists, that he rewards those who diligently seek him, 2) we have the hope of the true gospel, 3) we know how to seek him and know how to carry our cross. To read the details on how to seek God and carry your cross, see How to Receive the Changing Power of God.
From the Word of the Lord within: "Narrow, indeed, is the way. Strive to enter through the narrow gate. Few will find it. Men have stopped trying. They have plunged themselves into iniquity."
