|Luke 21:19 |
19 By your firm and patient endurance do you [possess] attain the true Life of your souls.2 [For salvation, (to save your soul), you must patiently endure in waiting, tribulations, suffering, and obedience in order to mortify and crucify your sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial. From the Word of the Lord within: "To endure on the cross is dying. Salvation comes to those who heed and obey. Salvation comes to those who wait. Be like the early Church, who for inexpressible joy endured to the end."]
2 By your firm and patient endurance do you [possess] attain the true Life of your souls. What endurance? Endurance on the inward cross of self-denial, endurance in tribulation, endurance in obedience, endurance in seeking, endurance in repenting. After he [Abraham] had patiently endured, [in obedience] he obtained the promise. Heb 6:15. Abraham believed enough to obey; Just as Abraham had to be physically circumcised, we must have our hearts circumcised to be pleasing to God. As Abraham exercised his faith to leave his home for a new land — so we must lose our fleshly life and forsake the world to enter God's Kingdom [within us]. As Abraham exercised his faith by obeying God's voice, willing to sacrifice Isaac, so we too must be obedient to the voice of the Lord within. For in your [Abraham's] seed [offspring] all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice, Gen 22:18.
