Mark 7:21-23 Display Chapter and Footnotes   21 For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked...Jer 17:9] 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lack of restraint, an evil eye [envy], blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. [..for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth...Gen 8:21] 23 All these evil things come from within a man, and defile him."3 [Every man's heart starts filled with evil, filled with sin, defiled, and disqualified for heaven. Unless your heart is cleansed and purified by the Lord's Spirit that destroys sin within man, every man walks according to the ways of the world and the god of this world, fulfilling their desires and lusts of their flesh according to their thoughts, according to their evil imagination, according to their carnal minds that are enmity against God and cannot be subject to the law of God. Every man is judged by their words and works, including those who claim to be Christians; God shows partiality to no man. From the word of the Lord within: "Only a heart that is purged of sin is acceptable to God. Everyone is expecting Jesus to be their excuse. If you are still sinning, you belong to sin and not to Me. See myself — thus no sin has a place in me. You are without excuse O man. Sin in believers is intolerable. The pure is innocent of all defilement." You can think you are a Christian and call Him "Lord," but if you die still sinning, you are banned from heaven. All defiled men are banned from heaven. When purified by grace, men are translated into heaven while on earth and then forever. To be freed of sin, even the desire to sin, you must obey the Lord's spoken commands that you expose yourself to hear, by waiting on Him in humble silence as you listen and watch; that is the one thing needed. [The peoples of the earth have ignored these perfectly clear behaviors, (sexual immorality, impurity, covetousness), that exclude any and all from the kingdom. From the Word of the Lord within: "Ephesians 5:5-6: This the void of the earth, made perfectly clear. Those who are immoral have no inheritance in God's kingdom." Paul just told us that covetousness is idolatry. So whatever we value or want without genuine need, we worship; and how one spends their free time defines their devotion. From the Word of the Lord within: "you must learn to hate everything you worship."] 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.1 [Paul warns you not to be deceived by anyone who tells you differently, (e.g., that your sexual immorality, impurity, and covetousness is excused by believing in Jesus), which is what the preachers of Christianity do; but even the demons believe in Jesus. It is only by waiting on the Lord to hear and obey his commands that one can become pure, free of sexual immorality, and free of covetousness. From the Word of the Lord within: "The way is clear: listen and obey."] | 1 Peter 4:2-3 Display Chapter and Footnotes   2 So that you should not live the rest of your time in the flesh in the lusts of men, but [live] to the will of God.1 3 For the time that is past is sufficient for us to have done what the Gentiles do, when we walked in sensuality, lusts, excess of wine, reveling [partying], banqueting, and abominable idolatries [wanting anything — covetousness]. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Modesty: be modest in all things."] | Colossians 3:5,8 Display Chapter and Footnotes   5 Therefore mortify [put to death] the deeds of the body that are of the earthly life: fornication, impurity, inordinate affections, evil lusts of the flesh, and covetousness, which is idolatry.4 8 But now put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of your mouth. | Ephesians 4:17-19,22 Display Chapter and Footnotes   17 Therefore, this I say and testify in the Lord, that from this time forward you must not walk as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, [which is to think thoughts with the carnal mind of man, which must be destroyed, to be replaced by the mind of Christ. From the Word of the Lord within: "Your thoughts are not my thoughts. At best your thoughts are a vain hiss. It is many thoughts that make the mortal man. Those who follow their own brain will weep and mourn; there will be great pain. The mind is a terrible thing."] 18 Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. 19 Who being past feeling [pangs of conscience], have given themselves over to fleshly indulgences, to work all impurities with greediness. 22 Strip yourselves of your former nature that controlled your conduct, which corrupts itself through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; |
