Matthew 3:2

2 And saying, "Repent [think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." [Christians of today have been incorrectly taught by their blind guides that heaven is only available when they physically die. They think they have no need to repent, presuming they are excused by grace from all the Bible's stated exclusions, requirements, and qualifying conditions of salvation; and they overlook that every man will be judged on his works and words. So today's Christians, listening to the words of the scriptures, hear them like a beautiful song that is sweet to their ears, but they fail to apply the commands to themselves — always thinking the warnings and commands apply to bad people, not righteous believing people like themselves; so they do not obey the commands of repentance from sin that they hear or read, remaining slaves to sin; and then they are banned from heaven when they die. "For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: 'In repentance and rest you are saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength, and you would not do it.'" Isaiah 30:15. ]

7 And as you go, preach, saying: 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' [Notice! Jesus said the kingdom of heaven was at hand, (available); he said it being entered then, by forceful men, by tax collectors, and prostitutes — but not by religious hypocrites who thought they were righteous. Jesus also said that some standing beside him would not die until they saw the kingdom of God come with power. John and Paul, testified to having entered the kingdom then, (including some of the Colossians with Paul); and there is record of thousands of Quakers that entered the kingdom three hundred years ago. Only by repentance is the kingdom entered, and you must enter while you are on earth. Sin must be eliminated because "no sexually immoral, impure or covetous person has any inheritance in the kingdom," Eph 5:3-6. That is why Jesus and John the Baptist preached, "the kingdom is at hand, believe the gospel, repent with remission sin, (release from the bondage of sin.")]

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, crying out, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." [Jesus said further: "Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead the third day, that repentance and release from bondage of sins (remission) should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Luke 24:46-47.]

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

4 So John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission [release from the bondage] of sins.1

15 Saying: "The time has come, and the kingdom of God is at hand [near]; repent and believe the gospel of God." [The New Testament is full of references to the second appearance of Jesus being then, not thousands of years later. In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus is recorded saying that some then standing with him, 2000 years ago, would see his glorious coming in the clouds with the Kingdom before they died. Paul, Jesus preaching, Jesus in Revelation, Peter, James, and John, — all said, soon, the time is near, a little while, he stands at the door. Christendom blithely ignores this gaping incongruity between what the Bible plainly states vs. what they are taught by their blind guides. It would be a cruel hoax to be waiting on Him to appear if the past one hundred generations of believers actually had no hope of ever seeing Him. From the Word of the Lord within: " Six attestations prove the reign's existence. The second coming is a personal experience. The second coming is in the hearts of purified believers. The King is where He is king."]

3 And he came into all the country around the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission [release from the bondage] of sins;1 [For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In repentance and rest you are saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength, Isa 30:15. Repentance: turn from your evil ways. Rest: Be still and know that I am God. Psa 46:10. Saved: to see Christ bring your salvation. — Wait on the Lord in quietness, rest from all your worldly non-essential activities, and have confidence that the Lord will remove the sin that he shows you, as you repent; thus you will be saved. There is no other way.]

3 I tell you, no. But unless you repent, all of you will also perish.1 [From the Word of the Lord within: "Ephesians 5:5-6—this is the void of the earth, made perfectly clear: 'For of this you can be sure, that no sexually immoral, or impure, or covetous person (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words. For because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.' Eph 5:5-6." "Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame." 1 Cor 15:34. "These times of ignorance God has overlooked; but now he commands all men everywhere to repent," Acts 17:30.]

5 I tell you, no. But unless you repent, all of you will also perish." [From the Word of the Lord within: "We must be brought under the control of God by repentance. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, who stand forth without repentance!" The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, ...but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Pet 3:9.]
