41 But he said to them, "How can they say that Christ is David's son?

42 For David himself said in the book of Psalms, 'The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand,

43 Till I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.'

44 David therefore calls him 'Lord,' how then is he his son?"1

35 Now when Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked, "How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David?

36 For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, 'The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.'

37 Therefore David himself calls him Lord; how can he then be his son?" Now the common people heard him gladly.
