|Matthew 24:27 |
27 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines to the west; so also will the coming of the Son of man be.4 [And so (like we heard God's voice from heaven on the mount) we have the more sure prophetic word [the word in your heart]; to which you do well to pay attention, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Pet 1:19. I am .. the bright morning star. Rev 22:16. He who overcomes and keeps my works to the end.. I will give him the morning star. Rev 2:27-28. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 4:6. From the Word of the Lord within: "Light comes from faith in the voice. First the light arises, then the kingdom. The arising of the light will be unmistakable; it is an ego-shattering experience."]
4 For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines to the west; so also will the coming of the Son of man be. This verse describes how Jesus, who dwells in unapproachable light, who is light of men, who is the bright morning star, who rises in a crucified believer's heart — with great light does the night of darkness end when the morning star rises in your heart to be the light of day so that a believer walks in the light of God, guided by the eye of God. From the Word of the Lord within: "Light comes from faith in the voice. First the light arises, then the kingdom."
This verse has been grossly misunderstood to refer to a physical return of Jesus on the clouds that all the earth will witness, (which is very difficult to imagine, considering the earth is not flat and would require many repetitions of His mythological return over a 24 hour period for all to see), but which refers to Jesus appearing in the hearts of purified believers. He is seen; He is revealed, (as in the Revelation); He appears.
To show how far the carnal mind and imagination can wander from reality and truth to invent an image and worship ritual, the Church of England read this verse as part of their official "worship service," and when read, the entire congregation would turn to the east and bow.
