27 Only let your conduct be as becomes the gospel of Christ; that whether I come and see you, or am absent, I may hear that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.
28 And do not be terrified by your adversaries in anything; for this is an evident sign to them of their of destruction, but to you a sign of salvation, and that from God.
29 For it is given to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for his sake;
30 Being engaged in the same conflict that you saw me have, and now hear is mine still.
|1 Corinthians 16:13|
13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, conduct yourself like men, be strong. [Be devoted to prayer with watching and thankfulness. Col 4:2]
|2 Thessalonians 2:8-13,15 |
8 And then that wicked one [the man of sin with Satan's spirit within you] will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and destroy with the brightness of his coming.
9 Even him, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all the deceivableness of unrighteousness in those who perish; because they did not receive the love of the truth so that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie;
12 So that all those might be damned who do not believe the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness.2
13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,
15 Therefore, brothers, stand fast and hold the traditions that you have been taught, whether by word or letter.
