Proverbs 7:10-27

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart.

11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet do not abide in her house.

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)

13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,

14 "I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows.

15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you.

16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; let us delight ourselves with love [sex].

19 For the good man [husband] is not at home, he has gone a long journey:

20 He has taken a bag of money with him, and he will not come home until the day appointed."

21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield; with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

 22 Suddenly he goes after her, like an ox going to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

23 Until a dart inflames his private parts;1 then he hurries like a bird hastens into the net, not knowing it is to cost his life.

24 Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. [When He says listen, He is not just telling you to pay attention to the words you are reading; He is telling you to listen for His voice to speak words from His mouth, which words come from within your heart to be obeyed, Rom 10:8. To attend is to listen and regard with compliance. Christ speaks to those who wait on Him in humble silence as they listen, watch, hear, and obey. Surely he loves the people; all your holy ones are in your power; and they sit at your feet, each receiving your words. Deu 33:3]

25 Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

26 For she has cast down many wounded; yes, many strong men have been slain by her.

27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

13 A foolish woman is loud; she naively embraces evil, and knows nothing.3

14 For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

15 To call to passers-by who are going right in their ways:

16 "Whoever is simple-minded, let him turn in here;" and as for him that lacks understanding, she said to him,

17 "Stolen water (pleasures) are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant."

18 But he does not know that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
