To obey is to follow the Lord, which all must do in order to be a true disciple. From the Word of the Lord within: "Follow precisely; do not deviate."] | Proverbs 8:34 34 Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Without our promises the soul is grieved; with them the soul settles down to a vigilant tribute to the Lord." To wait and watch is a tribute to the Lord; a tribute is something that you do to show that you respect and admire someone or something. To show respect and admiration for God by waiting and watching for Him is the beginning of love of God.] | Isaiah 55:3,32:9,28:23 3 Incline your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul shall live;2 and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies promised to David. [To come to Him, we go directly to Him, by sitting in humble silence as we wait on Him, listening for His voiced commands and teachings. From the Word of the Lord within: "We go to him, and he rains help on us; well does this exercise of God purify those who do. Come to me with the hope of speaking and acting righteously."] 9 Rise up, you women who are at ease; hear my voice, you careless daughters; give ear to my speech.1 23 Give ear and hear my voice; listen and hear my words.4 | John 10:27,18:37,6:63 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me [they obey].4 [From the Word of the Lord within: "I only know those who have been crucified." He knows everything, but his "knowing" you is for him to become one with you, which occurs after you have been crucified. These are very advanced believers whom Jesus has raised to heaven and whom He dwells within as they still walk the earth too. He guides them with His voice for all their words to speak and all their deeds to be done, bringing honor and glory to God.] 37 Therefore Pilate said to him, "Are you a king then?" And Jesus answered, "You say [rightly] that I am a king. To this end I was born, and for this reason I came into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."2 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life-giving.6 [Jesus is the bread of life: the life of God. From the Word of the Lord within: " The words I speak to you impart life; the Spirit gives life with every word heard." To acquire more of Jesus, (the life), you must get quiet, wait on Him, listen, hear His words that he speaks to you, and then obey what He commands. His words that he speaks to us impart the life of God to us and are engrafted into our hearts; and since Jesus is the life of God, His spoken words form Jesus within us, until finally He is resurrected in us to be our true Lord, ruling our thoughts, words, and deeds. From the Word of the Lord within, "Christ is actually resurrected in every person that comes to Him and obeys Him repetitively. With persistent and faithful obedience, you too will be raised."] | Luke 6:46-50,10:39,11:28,9:35 46 Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you?6 [For Jesus to be your Lord, you have to obey him. A Lord or Master tells his servant what to do; a servant listens to his Lord and Master and then obeys him. From the Word of the Lord within: "Remember, every person who sins denies Him as Lord and Master. The King is where he is king." We call Him Lord while failing to even seek to hear His words to direct us; instead we tell Him everything we want Him to do, we talk about Him, sing about Him, and read about Him in a book, thinking that is how to please Him. As Jesus said: You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and they are those that testify of me. But you will not come to me, so that you might have life. John 5:37-40. To come to Him is to think on his name as you patiently and persistently sit in humble silence, waiting on Him as you listen, watch, hear, and obey. The words you hear Him speak to you are Spirit and impart the life of God to you as they are engrafted into your heart. John 6:63, James 1:21. When we wait on Him to hear Him and obey Him, we show our love for Him.] 47 Whoever comes to me, and listens to my spoken words and does [practices, obeys] them, I will show you what he is like.7 [The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life-giving, John 6:63; note, not words read from a book, but words spoken to you from Christ, the Word of God in your heart, to be heard and obeyed. Jesus said that studying the scriptures is not coming to Him. John 5:39-40. To come to Him is to sit in humble silence and wait on Him, as you listen and watch; when you hear Him speak, if you obey Him, you are following Jesus. "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me..." Mat 11:29. This is the good part, the one thing that is needed: to sit at His feet and listen to His words that he speaks to us, Luke 10:39-42. "All your holy ones are in your power. And they sit at your feet, each receiving your words." Deu 33:3.] 48 He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep and laid the foundation securely built on a rock; and when the flood arose, the torrent beat violently upon that house, but could not shake it because it was founded on a rock. [The man who comes to Him, listens to His spoken words and then obeys what he hears, builds the temple of God, (Christ), in His heart; and when Christ is fully formed through persistence to the end, the day of the Lord comes while he is still alive on the earth, (which is a joyous occasion for the obedient), and his works of obedience survive the fire that all men must go through, which works are then forever to his credit, reputation, and reward.] 49 But the person who hears and does not put my words into practice is like a man who built a house upon the ground without a foundation; against which the torrent struck violently, and immediately it collapsed; and the ruin of that house was great." [But those who hear His anonymous words and fail to obey, for them the day of the Lord at their death, (which comes on all men), is a horrible, frightening experience; all their life's works are burnt up in the fire that all men must go through. The anonymous words of truth they heard, pleading to depart from evil, but which they failed to obey, will judge them in the last day, John 12:48. Because of their disobedience, their earthly life was spent in no benefit to them, and their many shameful acts are their eternal regret. From the Word of the Lord within: "I am the terror to most people. Everyone will be known by what they have done and said."] 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and heard his word. [We hear his word from within our hearts. Rom 10:8,17.] 28 But he said, "Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God [within your heart] and keep [practice, obey] it." [This is one of the critical verses to be understood. The Greek for word in this verse is logon <3056> which in English means: 1) of speech; 1a) a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said. Hearing someone read words from the Bible is not blessed; but when you hear the word of God within your heart speak to you, you are blessed with receiving a small measure of the life of God, (Jesus is the life); for the words Jesus speaks to you impart the life of God to you. John 6:63. From the Word of the Lord within: "Faith is to hear the Word of God and obey. Hear and live; the Spirit gives life with every word heard."] 35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to [believe, and obey] him." [This applies to all of us. We must hear the Lord speak to us and then obey; to obey is to follow. From the Word of the Lord within: "Follow precisely; do not deviate."] | Hebrews 5:9,3:15,4:7,12:25 9 And being made perfect, he [Jesus] became the author and source of eternal salvation to all those who heed and obey him;1 [Salvation is to be delivered (freed) from all sin, even the desires, through persistent obedience to the Spirit that mortifies the selfish human spirit on the inward cross of self-denial. You must persistently and patiently wait for Him in silence to hear his commands, as you listen and watch; then heed and obey Him. From the Word of the Lord within: "You must wait on the lord to receive salvation. Salvation comes to those who wait. Salvation comes to those who heed and obey. You will know the truth when you see Jesus bring your salvation. Salvation occurs when you are one with Christ and God."] 15 While it is said, "Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation [and rebellion]."1 7 Again, he limits a certain day, saying in David's Psalms, Today, which was long after [God swore his oath]; as it is said, "Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart,"[As occurred in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness.] 25 See that you do not refuse him who speaks. For if they did not escape, who refused him who spoke on the earth, how much more will we be liable, if we turn away from him who speaks from heaven [which is in your heart].9 | Ephesians 4:21 21 Assuming you have actually heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus.6 [We begin hearing the small still voice. We listen to hear His spoken words and learn from the Holy Spirit and the Word and Light in our hearts; ready to teach us all things and lead us into all truth; ready to teach us what to deny and how to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world; and ready to purify us so that we might serve Him and do virtuous works of glory to the Father. When we are sufficiently crucified, Jesus himself appears and speaks to us with a voice like thunder over the waters described in many Old Testament passages. As we hear His voice for the first time, He dispenses final judgment to us, crushes Satan under our feet, and we pass from death to eternal life. From the word of the Lord within: "You will hear the truth at final judgment. Truly, I say to you, all the truth is magnificent; you will marvel when you see it. Even Job marveled at what he saw. To be in Jesus is to be in truth."] | Romans 10:8,17 8 But what did it say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart [so you may hear and obey it];" that is, the word of faith, which we preach.1 [This quotes Deu 30:14, "But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, so that you may obey it." The Apostles preached that the Lord speaks with words from within your heart, to be heard, believed, and then obeyed in faith; thus the word of faith. The Apostles preached that faith comes by hearing the word in your heart, Rom 10:17. Whoever comes to Him to listen to His spoken words, (from within your heart), and then obeys them, builds their faith on solid rock. Luke 6:47. You come to Him by sitting in humble silence, waiting on Him, as you listen for His spoken words and watch for His revelations.] 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.5 [Faith comes by revelation: Christ, the Word in your heart, speaking to you from within your heart, Rom 10:8. The words I speak to you are Spirit and they are life-giving. John 6:63. Faith is a series of revelations. Do not assume that one revelation from God is your evidence of being saved; rather it is his call for you to seek him with all your heart and soul, as the first priority in your life. Christianity erroneously teaches that faith comes by belief in the message of the Bible; if so, then how did Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, etc. have faith when scriptures were yet to be written? From the Word of the Lord within: "Once again, my word is in your heart and mouth, which is there to obey. What is the evidence of your belief? — operational faith. Faith is to hear the Word of God and obey. Only those who want to be clean can hear. I am only reached by those with a penitent heart. The Spirit gives life with every word heard. Hear and live."] | Revelation 3:20 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.6 [The door is every man's heart; the knock is His gentle, anonymous voice pleading with you to depart from evil. To open the door is to believe His pleading to be true and to repent from the evil that He exposes. To sup with Him is to receive more of his Spirit that He pours on you in response to your obedience in heeding His reproofs.
